Vintage Pick Of the Week: Catch a Cashin

Bonnie Cashin once said: “All I want is to speak simply in my designing; I don’t want gilt and glamour.” And this pioneer of American sportswear design knew what she was talking about. She designed for smart, active, independent women who appreciated her coordinated pieces. The same sensibility she applied to the design of women’s armed forces uniforms in World War II was applied to her signature ponchos, capes and coats.
Today’s VPOW (Vintage Pick-of-the-Week) features one of her notable designs. This gorgeous all-weather coat features Cashin’s hallmark leather trim along with two super-deep front pockets, a pile lining, snap closures, and eye-catching houndstooth print.
It’s a fine Cashin catch for a vintage fashionista! Available at Zuburbia.com.
