Barnes & Noble Nook eBook Reader

nook_angle-view
Nook. A simple word that you’ll be hearing a lot of in the the upcoming Holiday season. Just announced, the Barnes & Noble Nook is the bookstore’s entry into the burgeoning eBook reader market. As a direct competitor to the Amazon Kindle and Sony Readers, the Nook offers many of the features you’d expect from an eBook reader and a little bit more.

Like other eBook readers, the Nook is eco-friendly. It can hold the equivalent of 1,500 physical paper based books, magazines, and newspapers. It features an E Ink display for comfortable reading and has both 3G and Wi-Fi access via the AT&T network. Two features that makes the Nook stand out are the full color touchscreen on the bottom of the screen and the ability to lend eBooks to a friend for up to 14 days at a time. Your friend can read the book via reader, cell phone, or computer. These unique features plus the $259 price points sounds like the Nook will be a frequent item on Santa’s wishlists.
