Snuggle up in a pair of Shearling Boots
As we head into the coldest part of winter, I like to beef up my daytime shoe choices, because as much as I like to look good, I just can’t feel confident in what I’m wearing if I know I’m going to be freezing cold. Problem is, bulk is not tremendously flattering, even in footwear, so one has to be a little bit picky when choosing big, chunky winter boots.
I’ll be the first to admit that most shearling boots probably won’t hold up very well in wet or slushy weather (they are suede, after all), but they’re amazingly comfortable, and most importantly they’re really, really warm. Add to that the feminine touches of a ribbon and fluffy furry trim, and you have a winner. They come in several colors, but I like the black because it goes well with my winter-white outfits, but manages to mask dirt pretty well.

I love the DVF boot…. too bad it’s probably not optimal for NYC weather: sludge, rain and muddy sidewalks.
That’s so funny! I just bought those DVF boots in purple….I wrote a whole post on the color. I agree about winter boots….It’s so hard to buy them. I’m considering a pair of duck boots right now but they’re so unflattering!!
