1. Super Sleek Chignons at Christian Siriano

One of my favorite designing phenoms, Christian Siriano, put on another fantastic fashion show during this week’s Fall/Winter 2010 New York Fashion season. The hair looks, created by Aveda lead stylist Antoinette Beenders, were simply divine . Beenders created a 1960’s Parisian glamour “wave” updo using Aveda Control Force™ Hair Spray (launching in June 2010). Read more for how to tips…

2. Gravity Defying TopNots at Catherine Malandrino

The hair for the Catherine Malandrino’s show was created by Odile Gilbert for PHYTO, reflected this strong warrior aesthetic. I loved the almost sculptural feel of these top knots, which had curl/texture and a beautiful height which complimented the clothes in the collection. In person, they appeared to be almost suspended in air! Read more for tips from stylist Odile Gilbert for PHYTO…

3. Sexy, Full, Side-Parted Ponytails at DKNY

At the Fall 2010 DKNY collection the featured look was a refined side-swept ponytail which reflected a sexy, luxurious equestrian vibe. I loved how the ponytail’s length fell over the shoulder on the side where hair is parted, while just a few face framing layers were left to brush along on the opposite side of the face.  The hair was styled by Eugene Souleiman, Global Creative Director for Wella Professionals. 4. Luscious Blue and Copper Makeup Looks at Derek Lam

For the first time ever, Estee Lauder has sponsored the makeup for a New York Fashion Week show! They recently worked with Derek Lam for his F/W 2010 runway show, and the results could not have been more stunning!  Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux created a look I really loved – with bold blue eyes, copper lips, matte skin, bare cheeks and neutral nails. Read more about Tom Pecheux’s inspiration for the makeup at Derek Lam.

5. Sweet and “Rough” Ponytails at Sophie Théallet

“Soft and Sensual” describes the beautiful hair looks at the Sophie Théallet Fall/Winter 2010 runway show, created by Antoinette Beenders, lead stylist for Aveda. Says Beenders, “The Sophie Théallet hair look for this season is soft, tousled, and romantic—a mélange of country girl and princess. Beenders used Sophie Théallet’s collection, which is inspired by folklore, as her starting point. Read more here to get the Sophie Théallet runway look.
