My Mom inspires me. She’s always accepted her children as unique, special people, encouraging us to be the best we can be. She’s always ready to go anywhere, do anything. We are always on the go, big trips and small. This bag would be fantastic to have on our many journeys! Small enough to be convenient, yet large enough to carry everything.

Definetly my mom, Marilyn. She is a divorced mother of 4, and we have all turned out pretty well! She is a fabulous artist of photography, oils, and watercolors. She is funny, sweet, and high spirited to boot. We just moved her to a new townhome, and she had so many wonderful pictures that it took forever to handle them, but it was so nice to see this special side of her as a person and not “just” our mother. She is my travel buddy and my icon too!

  6. Eve says:

  7. My mom always did, and always will inspire me although she’s no longer here with me. With her words of wisdom, by her actions she taught me what it truly means to be a mom, to love and put family first, behind God of course. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about my mom and pray that I can be a great mom to my kids as she was to me and my siblings. I would love to win the travel bag. It is so versatile, it can be used everyday to carry my books, technology gadgets in addition to being the perfect overnight bag.

My Dad passed away on Feb 6 in the midst of the blizzard that stopped Washington DC in its tracks. My mom had sent us all home to be with our families as she was worried about the impending storm (always thinking about others ) and hospice had told my mom that nothing would happen for a few weeks. However my Dad had malignant melanoma and had only been diagnosed 7 months prior. My Dad was born in Ireland and married by Mom coming from US Navy where he was an aviator/pilot in WW2. They had 6 children and my Dad was a NYPD police officer and went to law school at night. My mom took over both roles for a time. My mom always told my Dad he could be anything and she was right- he became head of a federal agency in DC. Can you imagine an immigrant head of federal agency and presidential appointee under 5 presidents. My mom inspired us all to go to school and become professionals. She is 86 and worked every day at a girls school in Md.The only time she took off was the 6 months of my father’s illness so she could take care of him. She was singing to him when he passed and she was all alone in a snowstorm where all the streets where closed. She rallied all the neighbors and us finally when we could gather to clear the streets so ambulance could get thru. AS they were taking him out my mother remembered how my father wanted a person in need to have his cochlear implant and wanted it donated. She gently took the implant form his ear and kissed him one last time. My mother could even arrange his funeral for one week cause everything in DC was closed. My mom went back to work at age of 86 on March 17. My father has not yet been buried at Arlington Cemetery has been backlogged because of the storm and the boys coming back from Iraq. Arlington called her last week and said if she agreed to cremation he could be buried right away. My mother had never discussed with my Dad and I know she is going thru a hard time deciding between

my friend Chantal inspires me – mother of twins who works full-time with little support

  10. Karissa says:

My mom definitely deserves the beautiful travel bag because she has done so much for me all my life and her loving care and warmth shines through all the time, despite the arguments or times of anger. After leaving for college, I truly have begun to appreciate her role as a mother and I’m sure she would smile and gasp if she received such a awesome bag. My mom is a big fan of relaxation during vacations and summer is coming up so she would love it!

  11. Angela K says:

My grandmother really inspires me – she has been a caretaker for her entire life. I can see her influence on my mom – her good qualities are those that I want to nourish in myself. She is fundamentally a selfless and caring person – I only hope she knows how much she is loved.

  12. My mom inspires me with her determination and inner strength. This would be a perfect bag for her to use when she travels but, also, would be great for keeping together her stuff for work.

  13. Jennifer B says:

My mom inspires me because she taught me never to give up. She is 50 and going to back to school to live out her dream.

I think the bag is beautiful and I would love to win it for my wonderful mom

  14. Rebecca says:

My mother has inspired and assisted in helping me open my own business – just opened in April – and named after a childhood nickname of mine – Loletta! She has constantly encouraged, listed to heartache, and even put in the work (scrubbing floors like Cinderella!). It was never too big or too much for me in her eyes, and now that it’s open I travel all the time searching for new products and lines to carry! This would be perfect to fit my needs – & timely since my funds are slightly low at the moment!

  15. Stephanie Grant says:

I have to say my mom inspires me because she is such a strong and beautiful woman and I would love to win this for her just as an extra I love you!

  16. Amy Roberts says:

I’m a frequent reader A Few Goody Gumdrops blog, which I really enjoy. Was just reading some of the wonderful tributes readers have written about their moms. Bravo to all moms who have had such magnificent impacts on their children, including my own mother, who I am blessed to have. I would love to win this handsome Vera Bradley bag, actually for myself! I am traveling to Europe this summer and this looks like the perfect bag to comfortably carry the necessary stuff and more. It is great looking and light weight. If I don’t win it, I very well may buy it!!!

  17. Deine says:

My grandmother is woman who inspires me! She raised my mother and worked her buns off to give her the best opportunities in life! She is absolutely fearless! She’s 86 and is still as strong as ever. I love to talk to her about life because always gives me sound advice–she’s been theree and done that and has really learned from her own mistakes. I think this bag would a wonderful gift–although, I must say that I really like it too!

  18. Nicole says:

My mom inspires me because she is such a giving, selfless, and patient mother. She has always been there for me and my siblings, and she still continues to be even now that we are grown and on our own. She rarely treats herself to nice things, preferring to give to others, so it would be nice to be able to give her this bag!

  20. Abby says:

Is it bad if I said my mum? She taught me lots of things. And even introduced me to my favourite author (the books I mean). This bag would be great for any female! But especially mums!

  21. Susan K says:

My aunt inspires me – having 8 children but taking the time to treat each with respect and accept their individuality

  22. shiki says:

My mum treats me and gives me pretty much all i want and need even though she has to work hard for everything in life. Simple life, same job, loads of house work. It would be nice to be able to give something back.

  23. Teri M says:

A mom that inspires me is my own mother of course. :)

She came here to the united state as a legal immigrant in the 1960s and married my dad, a white american. She is one of the bravest women that I know and sacrificed everything for a better life for herself and her family to come. :)

Would lov to win the Vera Bradley travel bag because the quality and construction will be superior, no doubt, like all her products. Plus i love how it is just big enough for an overnight without being TOO big.

thanks for the chance to win!

My mother inspires me…she gives to others before she takes care of herself. I’ve never met someone who is so selfless. She never had time when I was younger to help out at my school when I was in elementary school. Now she serves on our PTA board for the school that I teach in and my daughter goes to. She is there anytime anyone needs her without a second thought. She has always been my first best friend and I could and still can go to her for whatever I need.
