Paperself Paper Lashes Make For Unique Eye Candy!
I had heard about Paperself Lashes awhile back and was pretty intrigued (as I’ve mentioned before, fake lashes are a recent beauty obsession of mine!), but now that they’re actually available for purchase on Urban Outfitters, I’m not quite sure what to think! Beautiful and intricate sure, but wearable? Maybe not so much. Of course, I appreciate them as a novelty item, and the designs themselves are impressively intricate, but paper lashes? I mean… what happens to them if you start crying?
We’ve seen plenty of unique lashes courtesy of Shu Uemura’s avant-garde Tokyo Lash Bar, but these designed by Ting yu Wang take expression to a whole new level. Inspired by the art of Chinese paper-cutting, the lashes come in three different designs: horses (which symbolize success), peonies (good fortune), and peach blossom (love and romance). Personally, I’d be open to trying them out on a more costume-y occasion (though I’m not sure what kind of costume would lend itself to horse-shaped lashes), but at $18 each, I might rather keep them safe in the box for undamaged admiring!
