Think you can’t afford Chanel? Think again! Soon you’ll be able to afford Karl Lagerfeld. The luxury designer is launching an affordable capsule collection at Macy’s next year! If you were looking for something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, this could be it.
It sounds like Macy’s following the wave of designer collaborations. King Karl is next up, and we can’t wait!
While very exciting, this may not be a limited edition collaboration, as Karl Lagerfeld would designing an entire ongoing label for Macy’s. You know, that whole Masstige line we’ve heard him mention in the past. But still, Karl Lagerfeld’s affordable line sold at Macy’s stores and online is plenty for us to be thankful for!
Macy’s CEO says of the collaboration, “Karl Lagerfeld holds a unique place in the world of fashion, an icon who is the ultimate modernist. Through the decades, his style and vision have marked the history of design. It is a tremendous honor to bring his inimitable perspective to our fashion customer.”
If you’ve been paying attention, you probably remember that Karl Lagerfeld came out with a capsule collection for H&M about 6 years ago. The line sold out quickly and we’ve all been hoping he’d do something similar again. And now he is! Karl often expresses his desire to launch another clothing line. And knowing he can’t create one that competes with Chanel, he’s been wanting to do something affordable.
So, we might still not be able to afford Chanel, but at least will be able to dress ourselves in Karl Lagerfeld, but you must be patient. The collection is set to launch in September of 2011.
