I was totally addicted to false lashes for awhile (seriously – even for daytime!), but now that my morning work schedule has ramped up and my beauty routine consequently minimized (not to mention the fact that I’m just plain lazy in the morning), I’m all about mascaras that can help me make the most of my natural lashes. We’ve seen plenty of mascaras – both drugstore and high-end alike – that boast the “falsies” effect without all the fringe and glue, from Benefit’s “They’re Real” to Maybelline’s Falsies Volum’Express, but if I’m being honest, I’ve yet to be totally “wowed.” Sure, nothing’s quite like the real thing – or rather, the real fake thing, in the case of false lashes! – but Yves Saint Laurent’s new Baby Doll Mascara seeks to raise the bar of lush lashes! So what makes it so special? A new game-changing ingredient called graphene, a carbon crystal with a honeycomb structure, as well as a new generation of polymers and soft waxes, which maximizes the mascara’s lengthening, curling, and defining capabilities. Mad scientist talk aside, Baby Doll is all about applying buildable, concentrated color without clumping or drying like other thickening mascaras. Considering all the buzz that’s been surrounding YSL’s latest addition, including the super-hip Cara Delevingne-fronted ad campaigns that have been sprouting up here and there, I’m totally going to have to give Baby Doll a test run when it launches this spring!
