“We found a lot of stores felt a need or a product to help their bearded customers. Before we started servicing that need, there wasn’t anything for them to offer men who have facial hair. We wanted to serve the needs of the bearded.”

-Lindsey Reinders
Co-Founder of Beardbrand

- Beard Oil: According to Business Insider, men can benefit from using beard oil because it calms and softens up facial hair, while adding some shine. This is great because facial hair grows in all different textures and can get a bit wild. Beardbrand has a wide selection of beard oil blends to pick from. They use natural ingredients like argan oil, jojoba oil, grape seed oil and almond oil that help create a lightweight base that conditions beards without causing any heavy greasiness. - Bayolea Collection: Penhaligon, the official court barber and perfumer to Queen Victoria, released its first ever men’s grooming line this fall—Bayolea. Its moustache wax, shave oil and aftershave are excellent products for maintaining healthy and attractive facial hair. Bayolea products blend together citrusy, spicy and earthy ingredients like lemongrass, black pepper and sandalwood and create a masculine scents that aren’t too overpowering.

- Comb: Business Insider suggests that every bearded man invest in a good comb or boar’s hairbrush. These items will help keep your beard looking nice and clean. This is especially appropriate for bearded men in the corporate workforce. Eric Bandholz, co-founder of Beardbrand, describes the “corporate beard” to Forbes as “anywhere between a two-week and two-month beard that’s well groomed and the neckline and cheekline is straight.” In addition to a comb or hairbrush, scissors or beard trimmers will help men achieve this look.

Work-Appropriate Halloween Costumes

Many people like to go all-out when it comes to Halloween costumes. From crazy hair and makeup, to oversized props and equipment, accessorizing can sometimes be too much for certain environments. It’s totally ok to be festive, but different surroundings often require you to tone it down a little. Here are some tips to consider for work-appropriate Halloween costumes that will allow you to have fun while still maintaining productivity in the office.

-       Comfort: A normal workday is usually 8 hours, which means you will have to remain in costume for the extended period of time. Choose a costume that is comfortable and will not inhibit your ability to do complete your tasks. If you will be working outdoors or with heavy machinery, consider avoiding costumes that require props or other pieces that will get in the way of your tools/equipment. For example, substitute masks that may block your peripheral vision with makeup instead.

-       Keep it Professional: For women, Halloween costumes are often designed to be sexy and revealing. But the workplace is NOT the place to show off some skin. Keep it appropriate and don’t offend your fellow co-workers with costumes that will make them uncomfortable. Instead of purchasing risqué outfits, try finding individual pieces like skirts, pants and shirts in similar colors that could substitute for costumes.

How to Shop TheFind for Eco-Friendly Beauty Products

Shopping for eco-friendly beauty products can be tricky sometimes. There are so many different types of beauty products on the market which makes it difficult to find what you are looking for. Here are some tips on how to navigate TheFind for purchasing your beauty products.

TheFind mobile app is a very useful tool when shopping for products, especially on the go. You can download it from the app store onto your smart phone and then create an account. Since there is such a wide variety of eco-friendly products, it helps to narrow down your search by thinking of what type of beauty product you are searching for. For example, when typing “eco-friendly beauty products” into the search bar at the top of the screen, the page loads and offers you to choose from: Walls, Bath Brushes, Loofahs and Mitts, Air Freshener Sprays, Liquid Hand Soap and Computers. Searching for the term “eco-friendly beauty products” clearly allows too broad of a spectrum to look through. Therefore, it helps to think about more specific types of products.

We will use the image below as our shopping example for makeup products. Within makeup there are also numerous categories of items: eye shadow, foundation, brushes, lipstick, etc. It is important to identify which category you are interested in. At the top of the screen, type in “eco-friendly makeup brushes” to better specify your item. By doing so, you will be able to eliminate other categories and find only makeup brushes.

Whether it be makeup, hair care or skin care, identifying what categories you can narrow down in each type of product can help you find what you are looking for much quicker. Specifying categories like shampoo, eye shadow, face wash or moisturizer are some tips to help you pinpoint good search terms to type into the search bar. As usual, using TheFind location feature will allow you to shop at nearby stores and in an eco-friendly manner.

How to Wear Maxis in the Fall

-       Cardigan/Sweater: One of All Women Stalk’s 7 suggested ways to wear a maxi dress is to wear a cardigan or sweater. Tucking a sweater into a high wasted maxi skirt will accentuate your waist while also making you look taller. Putting a lightweight cardigan over a maxi dress will cover your shoulders nicely for the cooler fall weather and also keep your wardrobe appropriate for more professional settings.

-       Scarf: Scarves are always appropriate for fall weather. They transform a summer maxi dress into a chic fall outfit. Printed scarves can liven and dress up a solid color maxi dress, making you stand out from the crowd.

-       Belt: Maxi dresses don’t always fit perfectly. For dresses that are too loose and baggy, accessorizing with a belt will shape the dress around your figure. This also helps avoid looking like you are wearing a frumpy bag. Along with belts, tying a simple knot at the bottom of a dress is a stylish way to add character to your outfit, while secretly hemming the length to fit shorter girls. These are two trendy ways make oversized maxi dress look more flattering.

Clean Your Makeup Brushes For a Flawless Face

Makeup is always a huge part of getting ready for special events. One of the most important tips to consider when applying products to your face is keeping brushes clean. Taking care of your brushes not only allows them to last longer but also prevents your skin from breaking out.

 - Brush it Off Cleansing Brush Wipes: President of Anisa International, an accessory manufacturing and design firm, Anisa Telwar Kaicker partnered up with Sephora to develop Brush it Off Cleansing Brush Wipes. These individually wrapped wipes are perfect for when you are in a rush. They are small and easy to transport, and also allow your brushes to dry quickly compared to liquid cleaners that require you to submerge brushes completely in the product. These are ideal for makeup artists who are booked for big events and have multiple clients to attend to.

- Olive Oil: Olive oil is a very convenient product to clean brushes because most people already have it in their kitchen.  Kaicker told Bustle that, “Olive oil is a must-have for brushes that are heavily embedded with makeup.” This product is obviously a good alternative for deep cleaning brushes. By rubbing a dime-sized amount of oil through the brush bristles, the oil will easily lift the makeup residue right off the brush, then, simply use dish soap and water to wash the oil away.

Fall Fashion Trends

The end of summer is slowly approaching, but that only means it is time for a wardrobe change! These fashion trends will definitely get you excited about the fall season.

-       Capes/Ponchos: The fall season can be tricky when it comes to fashion. The weather can be too cool for short sleeves but too warm for sweaters and hoodies. Capes and ponchos are perfect cover-ups to help keep you comfortable. They are lightweight and help make a lazy day outfit look “super-chic.”

-        Shoes: Fall weather allows you to wear many different shoes styles. According to Leah Karp, InStyle accessories director, leopard print, jewel tones, and textures are going to be popular trends in shoes this fall season. These are great ways to add a pop of color and fun to your wardrobe!

-       Shirt Dresses: Shirt dresses are becoming extremely trendy! You can pair a shirt dress with a big, chunky statement necklace and go for a professional look in the office. You can also add a belt, a pair of boots, and a scarf for a more casual style.

Treat Yourself to a Spa Day at Home

While a relaxing spa day is always tempting, the high price tag isn’t. Give yourself a spa day without leaving your house with Glamour’s at-home spa tips:

Toner: Rose-water toner has excellent astringent properties. Make your own by pouring two cups of boiling water over every one, firmly packed cup of rose petals. Cover and steep until the liquid is cool. Strain and squeeze out the liquid from the petals and keep the rose water refrigerated in a sterilized jar between uses.

Mask: Use a blender to make your own hydrating facial mask. Blend together cold cream, yogurt, honey, aloe vera gel and avocado and use a foundation brush to paint the mixture onto your face. Let the mask dry for 15 – 20 minutes and rinse.

Deep-Condition: Coconut oil is a great natural hair conditioner and body lotion. Leave it in your hair overnight or condition with a heat cap and it moisturizes, provides shine and helps protect new growth. While many commercial lotions contain a lot of water and petroleum-based ingredients that can suffocate the skin, coconut oil provides natural, deep moisture. It also helps strengthen underlying tissues and remove excessive dead cells on the skins surface.

Body Scrub: Exfoliate your skin with a homemade, sugary scrub. Mix together 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of raw oatmeal and 1 cup of olive oil. Apply the scrub to dry skin with your hands moving in slow circles. After scrubbing gently all over, step into the shower and rinse off—your skin will feel silky and soft when you’re finished.
