Natural Hair Color from Aubrey Organics – Ayurvedic Blended Botanicals

31cletmW6EL._SL500_AA280_

Aubrey Organics, Color Me Natural, 100% Natural Permanent Hair Color, Dark Brown, 4 oz (115 g)

We put a lot of stuff in our hair shampoo, conditioner, products, and color. The good news is that hair care products are made mostly of water. The bad news is that the chemical ingredients that actually do the work—chemical detergents, dyes, fragrances, and conditioners—aren’t always safe for you or good for the environment. Dyes and colors often come with ingredient lists that are 60 or 70 chemicals long and can be pretty toxic. Aubrey Organics Color Me Natural is made of chemical-free all natural ingredients. This mild ayurvedic blend of botanicals gently coats the hair for vibrant, stable color that lasts without damaging your hair. Covers gray and enhances your own natural hair color.

Kazam Natural Body Care After Shave Lotion

Kazaam-After-shave
Kazam Natural Body Care
is somewhat political. The line was created by the spouse of an international diplomat. The organic health and skincare line has been used to teach seminars and workshops to empower African women. The full range line boasts products for men and women. After shave products for men tend to have high alcohol contents and preservatives that habitually irritate the skin. While the packaging is reminiscent of an “old lady product” according to a fellow user, the post shave lotion is useful. It provides a decent balance of moisture and calm. The price point ($10) was exceptional in proportion to the amount of product and amount needed for application. There was a distinct aroma of lemon lime and bergamot. If it wasn’t for the dated packaging and we knew its efficacy, we would purchase this one!

Impulse Buy of the Week – Sue Devitt Sunset On The Serengeti Eye Palette

With Sue Devitt’s color collections, she always takes inspiration from her travels and creates amazing shades/palettes and product concepts from them. Case in point: The beautiful new Sue Devitt Microquatic Hydrating Marine Minerals Eye Palette, Serengeti.
While Sue was in Africa, she was spellbound as she watched the sun set on the Serengeti Plain and the way in which it brought alive the rich, earthy tones of the African landscape.

The eye shadows are formulated with a a proprietary delivery system that increase skin’s moisture level and vitality and contain biotechnological marine and botanical substances such as Sea Butter, Shea Butter, Ceramide 2 and Hyaluronic Acid in addition to vitamins, minerals and proteins that work in tandem to help skin absorb water from the air while restoring skin’s natural elasticity. The shadows didn’t dry out during the day, and remained fresh and glowing long after I had applied them in the morning.

This palette is extremely versatile and flattering on all skin tones. When I used the copper and cream shades together I was able to create casual day time looks with just a touch of unexpected sheen. For evening, I loved using the beautiful dark chocolate with shimmer and bronze shades together to create a smokey eye. The cream shade can be used with any of the the other darker shades to change the effect, or make it more subtle.RLB

Sue also believes in beauty giving back: Proceeds from the Serengeti Destination Eye Palette benefit Africa Foundation to provide water solutions throughout Tanzania.

Taylor Swift Is Bringing Back Curls

Taylor’s Gorgeous, Soft Hair

We love Taylor Swift’s curls! Not only does she look super cute when she’s performing, but now we’ve been catching a lot more of her with Taylor Lautner. Conclusion? She definitely knows how to style up her spirals, and we’re researching the best way to do it.

If you’re tempted to start styling up your curls again, here are some tips to get you started:

*Kick off with the right cut. Make friends with a stylist who regularly deals with curly hair, and then go from there. Think foundations, and do take any product recommendations to heart.

*Know at what point to apply your styling product. After you rinse out your conditioner, “pull” out the water, and then begin applying a light gel. If you master the amount it takes for your particular haistyle, you will not have to deal with the “wet look.”

*Don’t be afraid to blend products together for optimum effect. Mousse and cream can be mixed together to create a product that offers the benefits of each, like the holding power of a gel with the softness from a mousse.

Don’t forget that wearing your hair curly doesn’t mean you’re sacrificing style–just take a look at Taylor Swift’s cute updo! She did an amazing job twisting up her hair into a loose bun, and you can do the same.

Fab Holiday Finds for Under $25

fab holiday finds

Lately, I’ve come across some great finds online and in stores that are budget friendly. I’m not letting the recession stop me from shopping and you shouldn’t either. It can be difficult finding a great pair of shoes or a nice top that can fit into your budget. Well, that’s why I’m here to help. Starting today, I will include a post of fab finds your wallet can handle and this will be ongoing each week. Check out some great holiday finds for just under $25!

1. Get you party on in this fabulous knitted Geo Sequin tube top. What attracted me to this top is its geometric stitching of sequins that are interwoven with shades of silver, gray, and black. It has an elasticized top band for great hold and overall just a fun top to party in. Match it with a pair of skinny jeans, stilettos, and clutch, and you’re set! Forever 21 ($19.80)

2. Give your tresses some shimmer and shine with Frederic Fekkai Golden Shimmer Gelee Mist. This limited-edition must have adds golden shimmer to give your hair subtle luminosity and glamour. It also has a great hold so your style stays perfect throughout the holiday parties. Sephora ($20)

3. Wish for the Stars! Smashbox limited edition set contains its superstar products that are travel-friendly. The set is perfect to store in your holiday clutch or tote. It includes Lash DNA Mascara in Jet Black, Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume, and Mini Fusion Soft Lights in Dusk. A great stocking stuffer! Smashbox is also serving a great cause. With each Wish for the Stars purchase, $1 will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network.  Ulta ($20)

4. I saw this bag at Nine West and I thought it was so cute. It’s retail price is $59 but it’s actually on sale right now online. This purple Minigood Shoulder Bag has a top zip with a rouched fold over flap secured by a twist lock. It has zipper pockets in the back and inside for all your organizing needs. Purple is in this season and it’s on sale so don’t miss out on this one! Nine West ($19.99)

5. I’m a huge fan of Top Shop and when I came across these sandals, I thought too myself…Whoa! This metallic Playa Flat Sandal by Boutique are so hot! The original price was $160 and the new knockdown price almost gave me a heart attack. Halloween is just around the corner and these gladiator sandals would be perfect with the right outfit. Like…and Egyptian goddess? Top Shop ($20) <-Wow!
