Before the school year starts, make sure you are stocked up on these back-to-school staples:

-       Paper Organizer: Help your kids remember to give you important school documents with a standing file organizer. Keep the organizer in a visible, easy-to-reach area and your child can put school papers inside it right after they get home.

-       Backpack: If you still haven’t gotten a new backpack for your kids, now is your last chance. A sturdy backpack is worth the investment—look for one with a padded back, multiple compartments and reflective material so your child is more visible to drivers after dark.

-       Calendar: A calendar is essential to keep track of all your kid’s homework assignments, sports practices, music lessons and social events.

-       Labels: If your kid has the same backpack, lunchbox or sweater as someone else, labels are a must for preventing mix-ups. Use a sharpie or label maker to put your child’s name on all of their belongings.

-       Lucky Charm: Send your child to school with a comforting reminder of home. When you are out shopping with them, pick out a little mascot or key chain that they can put in their backpack, locker or desk—they’ll be reminded of you whenever they look at it.

Three Style Staples for Summer

There’s denim skirts, denim shorts, floral tops, and tank tops. You know, the usual summer fashion fare that are so popular simply because they are so quick and easy and convenient to slip when heading out into the sweltering heat. But this year, maybe we should switch it up a bit and break away from that safe and simple approach that’s been keeping our summertime looks humdrum and, dare I say, quite boring. It’s nice to show skin and bask in the sun. But it’s even nicer to look good when you’re doing it. This time around, instead of picking things that will only keep you cool in the upcoming 80+ degree weather, why not pick something that will make you look cool, too? So toss those grungy flip flops and ratty layerered racerback tanks, these three style staples for summer will ensure that everyone knows that you are just as stylish as you are smart about the weather.
A Ruffled Camisole: Toss those tanks when the alternative staple is something so much prettier. A ruffled camisole is comfortable, beautiful, and oh-so romantic. Mimi Chica’s Ruffled Camisole comes ina variety of colors and prints. There’s sure to be a ruffled number to match your every mood.

An Amazing Romper: Picking a romper in a simple solid color and silhouette, like BCBGeneration’s Black Romper, allows for numerous mix and matching. Ensuring that the romper will look like a new fit every time.

Cuff Shorts: A classier switch from the good ol’ denim pair, a pair of khaki or cream colored cuff shorts is the perfect staple piece to effortlessly pair all of your favorite tops. Splendid’s Cuff Shorts have an added luxury of an elastic waistband, a faux fly with simple buttons, and all in a super soft linen blend material.

Make Your Locks More Luxe With Bumble and bumble’s Shine Collection!

As a hair perfectionist, I’ve always loved Bumble and bumble products (they’re made for beauty control freaks like me!), but ever since the popular brand hit the Sephora shelves, it’s become even easier to obsess over their latest wonder-working products! Since I’m addicted to my flat iron, I love sleek, shiny, glossy hair (no fly-aways allowed!), and Bb.’s latest must-try line, the Shine collection, puts a little extra pizzazz to dull, sad summer hair. Consisting of shine-inducing shampoo, conditioner, and finishing spray (you can even test out all of them for a bargain with the three-piece travel set!), this collection provides maximum frizz control despite the stuffy humidity and separation for that sleek, piece-y look without making your hair feel weighed down (heavy hair is the last thing you want in the summer!). With a high-gloss formula, your hair will have that shiny sheen all day — just make sure to use it sparingly to avoid the greasy look!

Tieks: Fashionable & Comfy No-Fuss Flats!

As avid trend-watchers, we’ve seen our share of innovative footwear fads, especially when it comes to flats. We’ve spotted flats that roll at the soles, flats that fit in your pocket, and even flats dispensed out of vending machines… but whatever happened to just plain quality, cute flats that don’t do any crazy tricks other than simply stay comfortable no matter how long they’re on your feet? Introducing Tieks, unbelievably comfy designer flats that come in every color and pattern known to man that are made especially for maintaining comfort with their cushioned heel, flexible fit, and soft, top-grain leather. Okay, okay… and they also happen to have the ability fold up to fit in your purse (I guess a little trickery can’t be avoided). Yes, they cost a pretty penny (if you’re more likely to pay around the same price just for the sake of having that oversized Tory Burch logo on the toe, I understand), but if you’re constantly on a never-ending hunt for the perfect pair of wear-’em-anywhere flats and don’t mind spending the dough, your search ends here!
