Teach Me Time Talking Alarm Clock

teach-me-talking-alarm-cloc

Your kids are back to boarding the bus, hitting the books and have already lost a few crayons or four.  That’s right it is back to school time again.  If you have children in the pre-school to elementary school age then you know the importance of keeping them on time.  Wouldn’t it be easier if they could start keeping track of the time themselves?

Introducing the Teach Me Time Talking Alarm Clock & Nightlight.  The Talking Alarm Clock is a cute bedside clock that also acts as a dual-color, programmable nightlight with a timer.  Parents can select the on, off and optional “OK to wake!” time.  When it is time to wake up the nightlight will turn from a soft yellow, which provides a comforting glow at night to a bright green for go.  Parents can set the “OK to wake” time themselves, which is great for those early risers.

The Teach Me clock is both digital and analog which assists in teaching your child from ages 3-7+ how to tell time.  It is interactive with a talking game that helps school age kids tell time while also being a functional alarm clock with a snooze feature.  The big, round buttons are easy to use while a control panel can be accessed by parents to set the clock’s functions.

While the kids may have already gone back to school the Teach Me Time Alarm Clock is the perfect product to help kids get back into the swing of things on time.

Fashion Week Countdown begins…

By Carlina Harris

To all the style aficionados out there: thank you, you make the world a beautiful, fashionable place! Fun to look at and even better to live in! Our time has come my dear well accessorized ladies and gents, New York Fashion Week is upon us in less than eight days. Cue the models, makeup artist’s and last minute crazed and dazed designers. No, I did not get any invite’s this year (I die, I’m dying), and will not be in New York for all the festivities (tears). One day I promise you this, I will be front row center (maybe if I became Lindsay Lohan’s new girlfriend) one day! But until then I will be continue to report fashion trends, down from earth.

This upcoming fall season is going to be a chilly one. Swaddle yourselves in cashmere, preventing frost bite, boot up in Hunters to prepare for the torrential Bay Area downpours, watch out kiddies there is a fashion blizzard ahead!

brrrrr………….

When it comes to fashion followers, devotees are becoming younger and younger, can you say Suri Cruise NYC Prep, those kids have it all, wrapped up in a Louis Vuitton bunny ear-ed bow. Whether you are, or shop for a hormonal adolescent keep these four ongoing trends in mind when you are shopping.

Boho Chic: This updated and modern bohemian look replaces the bell bottoms and earthy looks from years past with destroyed skinny denim, folk-inspired fringe vests, shaggy faux fur vests and hobo fringe bags and shoes. The current times have brought back this trend but its new age focus is funky, edgy and light hearted.

BOHO

Destroyed Denim– Not just a whole in the knee; the entire jean is shredded for an updated look. These jeans are distressed with holes straight off the rack. They’ll look like they’ve been worn for years.

More fall fashion trends this way, after the jump…

Make Back to School a Breeze with these Time Saving Finds

Kids are heading back to school or have just started back and as parents of school aged kids know-mornings can be hectic.

Packing lunches, getting kids up and dressed, and out the door can be a challenge during the school year.

We have found several products that can help save you time by giving your kids more responsibility to get ready for school.

First off we like the My Own Shower for kids who are old enough to take a shower but may not be big enough to easily use a standard shower head.

Next, we think all parents should have kids pick out their clothes for the week or at least help you pick out outfits. We like the 5 Day-7 Shelf Closet Organizer by Whitney Design because there are spots for shoes and a favorite item or extras like socks or a hat.

To help make the morning get off to a good start we like the Teach Me Time Talking Alarm Clock
for elementary age kids that are learning time or know time but are not ready for an adult alarm clock.

And to save time and help the environment we like the Reduce Water Week Set of 5 Bottles.

These colorful, fun bottles are BPA-free and have a fridge organizer so you can fill them up before the school week and grab one each day before school.

We also like the Contigo Kids Auto-Seal Bottle for school lunches and outings because they are leak proof and it auto-seals between sips for no spill lunches. Kids can easily fill these up and there won’t be extra clean up from leaks after school.

Make this school year less stress free by getting your kids involved and adding a few products to get your family organized before the school week.

Back To School Story Books for Kids

back-to-school-books

Many children have anxiety about starting school.  They don’t know what to expect and new people and places can seem scary. Whether it’s their very first day of school or the first day of a new school year, help prepare them by talking to them about their concerns. Reading stories about school can also be helpful. A few to consider:

Maisy Goes to Preschool- This book has a look into the day in a life of a preschooler.  It’s perfect for letting the youngest back-to-schooler know what to expect from a day at school starting with hanging their jacket on a special hook to saying good-bye at the end of the day.

Miss Little’s Gift- In this book about the youngest, smallest and newest second grader who has trouble reading and sitting still, the teacher finds a way to connect with the boy making learning a little easier.  This book may resonate with children with ADHD.

Miss Mingo and The First Day of School- Miss Mingo’s students are very diverse- from an elephant to an octopus. On the first day of school Miss Mingo invites them to share something special about themselves.  Do you know how long a giraffe’s tongue is?  Find the answer to this and other cool animal facts in this delightful book.

Other good picks:   Little Rabbit Goes to School, The Berenstain Bears Go Back to School, and Arthur’s Back-to-School Surprise.

Dress Up After School Snacks with Cookie Cutters

schoolcookie-cutters

Fall is right around the corner and the lazy days of summer will be coming to an end.  Celebrate the new school year with Back-to-School themed snacks made with cookie cutters.

  • Jello-O Jigglers are always fun.  Spell out different words or phrases with alphabet cookie cutters
  • Cut out school house shaped cheese for cheese and crackers
  • Make apple shaped cookies for the kids to take to their new teacher.
  • Surprise the kids on the first day of school with crayon shaped PB&J sandwiches in their lunch bag

Cookie cutters can be used to make all sorts of things besides cookies.  Use your imagination and have some fun with the kids as they head back to school.

Yet Another Way to Wake Up in the Morning

If you liked "Clocky," the cute little alarm clock that jumps off the nightstand and runs away then you’ll LOVEFlying_clock
this alarm clock too!

Ladies and gentlemen, check out the Flying Alarm Clock…it wakes you up with a loud, annoying shrieking alarm. But that’s not all, it has a cute little propeller that launches off the clock and flies into the air. You can’t smack this alarm clock’s snooze button to turn it off, instead you have to drag your butt out of bed and catch the propeller. Once you retrieve the propeller you must plug it back into the alarm clock before the shrieking alarm will turn off. And voila! You’re awake!!! If you can go back to sleep after all that chaos then you clearly win the sleeping award of the year. :o )

Happy Snoozing/Searching/Shopping,
Payton
