It looks like even San Francisco-based beauty brand Benefit is jumping on Pantone’s Radiant Orchid bandwagon! Streamlining your mid-day touch-up makeup arsenal just got a whole lot easier, thanks to Benefit’s latest multipurpose product, Lollitint! The new lavender-hued shade joins the ranks of the brand’s other much-loved cheek and lip tints, Benetint, Posietint, and Cha Cha Tint, to smudge-proof color for lips and cheeks. Much like its multi-tasking stains, Lollitint adds a lightweight, blendable flush that’s buildable without caking or sweating off. Though closest in hue to the petal pink Posietint, this new “candy orchid” take on the fan-favorite product packs a bigger punch with a more opaque pigment. For those of you beauty mavens who are having cold feet about going full-out with this year’s Radiant Orchid trend, Lollitint is a flattering, more versatile way to ease into it! Plus, for $30, a little bottle goes a surprisingly long way!

Embrace Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year with These Radiant Orchid Beauty Picks

2014 is here, which means Pantone’s Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid, is ready to make its grand entrance. Personally, I’m still a little torn about how I feel about Radiant Orchid – it’s not quite pink, yet it’s not quite purple… and it’s a little hard to search for it or filter by it while you’re shopping for the shade online (though I’m sure that’s all about to change in no time), so how does a fashionista give it the warm welcome it deserves? While Sephora’s collaboration line with Pantone usually makes it super easy to get your Color of the Year on in the form of expertly-hued beauty products, this year’s Radiant Orchid doesn’t hit stores until March! So in the meantime, I’ve went ahead and done the work for you by rounding up some of my own beauty picks in honor of 2014′s It Color. Shop them in the links below!

Deborah Lippmann Unveils New 2014 Spring Reveries Collection

Everyone who knows me knows that I’m a huge fan of Deborah Lippmann nail polishes — yes, even at $18+ a pop — so it goes without saying that I couldn’t wait to see what she’d come up with for her next Spring collection. While her 2013 line featured a series of speckled Staccato glitter shades, this year the celebrity manicurist has gone decidedly simpler with a back-to-basics approach to spring pastels, courtesy of her Spring Reveries collection. Now, if you’re going to go the “expected” route when it comes to spring beauty trends, you better do it really well, and Deborah Lippmann’s Easter egg hues are the perfect glossy, opaque formula that you’ll want to wear the whole year through. Of course, aside from its array of traditional pastel hues — from minty green to creamsicle peach — it manages to keep things interesting with the shimmery La Vie en Rose shade, which is more on the sheer side with pink and gold shimmer.

What’s your favorite Spring Reveries shade? Sound off in the comments below!

Get the Look: Keira Knightley’s Navy Smoky Eye

I’m always looking for new ways to upgrade the classic smoky eye. After all, the look is a faithful go-to for gals who like to play up their eyes, but like many tried-and-true beauty looks, it’s always fun to switch things up just a bit. Take Keira Knightley’s recent beauty look at the red carpet premiere of her new flick, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. The sultry dark eye – a red carpet staple – got an expected twist in the form of matte navy shadow that looked gorgeous against her full, groomed brows and flawless complexion. Sure, we’ve seen midnight takes on the smoky eye before, but Keira’s look was especially fierce and fresh, skipping the glitz and glitter we’ve seen time and time again in favor of straight-forward, smoked-out navy.

Don’t Sweat It: Workout Beauty Tips

Honoring your New Year’s Resolutions with regular workout routines? Check out some of our staff beauty tips for pre and post-work outs below.

Credit Spavelous.com

Pre-workout Beauty:

-       Keep your hair up and out of your face with headbands and / or hair ties. This will help keep your locks dry and sweat-free. If you have bangs, use headbands, barrettes or bobby pins. Our favorite headband brand: Under Armour.

-       Opt for a high bun or a braided bun. These options will result in post-workout curls.

-       Rinse your face or use a facial cleansing wipe. Your pores will open during your workout and you’ll want to make sure they stay as clean and gunk-free as possible.

-       If you insist on wearing makeup, go with a minimal approach and choose waterproof mascara. Another helpful tip includes applying a light coat of petroleum jelly under your eyes. This will allow you to quickly and easily remove any mascara runs.

Post-workout Beauty:

-       Wash your face with a wash / scrub or use a facial cleansing wipe if you are on the go.

-       Clean hair. If you don’t have time for a full shower, consider dry shampoo – it will suck up unwanted oil and sweat. We’ve heard great things about the Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk. As well, leave in conditioners are great for swimmers. Kiehl’s All-Sport Every Day Shampoo is a nice, gentle wash for those with more time.

-       Stick with light makeup application. Promote healthy, acne-free skin with a minimal makeup application post-workout. We suggest a tinted moisturizer, powder foundation and blush.

Haven’t Found Your Signature Scent? Tocca’s New Set Lets You Try Them All!

I’ll be honest – fragrance is one realm of beauty that rarely gets me excited. I mean, sure, I’ll spritz some on as I walk out the door in the morning, just for the sake of smelling like a lady… but it’s not something I ever feel motivated to splurge on. Maybe it’s because I haven’t found my signature scent – one that suits my personality, makes me smell and feel more attractive, and is undeniably ME! Tocca’s new ‘Meet the Girls’ fragrance collection has definitely piqued by curiosity with the vast variety of perfumes out there. With 10 mini spray fragrances that span the feminine scent spectrum, you can spritz away and experiment – and even combine scents and create your own perfect musk – from the spicy Cleopatra to the subtly floral Liliana. Plus, this set makes a pretty adorable stocking stuffer, if you’re looking to cross out a few beauty-loving pals off your Christmas shopping list!

Isaac Mizrahi Loves Tweezerman: Cute Stocking Stuffers for the Beauty Lovers on Your List!

In this day and age, professional-grade beauty tools are easier than ever to get one’s hands on. So with so many options out there, how does a girl decide? I’ll be honest – once I’ve narrowed down my options based on specs, customer reviews, and price (this applies to makeup brushes, hair tools, tweezers, you name it!) – it all comes down to which tools are the prettiest! And Tweezerman’s new capsule collection with designer Isaac Mizrahi makes a strong case. The Project Runway All Stars judge has lent his creativity and personality to a new three-piece collection, Isaac Mizrahi Loves Tweezerman, sold exclusively at Sephora. Neon splatter print and candy button patterns decorate the brand’s award-winning Slant Tweezers, Mini Slant Tweezers, and even a cute Filemate Nail File. After all, why shouldn’t your splurge-worthy beauty tools look as beautiful as they help make you look? Aside from looking cute, they’re also bright enough to stand out among the rest of your makeup stash in your trunk case or beauty drawer… so you could say that these statement-making brow tools are as practical as they are pretty!

Festive Holiday Hair: Bumble and bumble’s Debuts New Spray-On Hair Color for the Commitment-Phobes

When it comes to my hair color (and overall hairstyle, come to think of it), I’m kind of a wimp. The one time I actually decided to go out of the box from my usual brunette locks, I went for full-on, Christina Aguilera-inspired cherry red highlights… and let me tell you – big mistake. The funny thing is, although I’ve basically had the same hairdo for the past 8 years or so, I’m actually a major commitment-phobe when it comes to making drastic changes to my look. Of course, I know it’s just hair, and no permanent change is ever truly permanent, but somehow I always find myself going back to my usual ‘do. Thanks to Bumble and bumble’s newest product, Spraychalk, girls like me who are way too attached to their hair can still have a little fun with our style, with the added comfort of knowing it can easily be washed out come morning. This quick-dry tinted hairspray applies bold, on-trend streaks of color to hair – in shades like mint, cobalt, lavender, and blush – and washes out with your next shampoo. So, the next time you’re feeling inspired by 90s pop videos, test out the look with Spraychalk before you resort to the permanent stuff. Take it from me!

Stocking Stuffer for Your BFF: Stila’s Portrait of a Perfect Eye Palette Showcases Nude Hues at Their Best!

  • posted December 3rd, 2013

Okay, I’ll be honest. This palette isn’t my #1 choice for nude eye shadow palettes this holiday season, but if you’re like me and missed out on the frenzy of the initial release of Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette, this cute Stila kit is a pretty sweet alternative. The brand’s Holiday 2013 Collection pays tribute to the artist in all of us with a series of makeup goodies all dressed up in packaging inspired by art supplies – think eyeliners in colored pencil tins, lip creams arranged like watercolors, and eyeshadows arranged like artist’s paint palettes. The Portrait of the Perfect Eye Palette is my personal favorite, with its six rose-gold tinted neutral hues that have just a slight shimmery finish. Wear them alone, or pair with more dramatic shadow hues that are already in your existing shadow collection for an on-trend cut-crease look or dramatic, contrasting smoky eye. Plus, its thin, compact shape makes for a perfect stocking stuffer! Browse the full Holiday 2013 collection on TheFind!

Trim the Tree with Beauty Goodies Courtesy Sephora’s New Nail Polish

I’ll admit I was a little disappointed when I heard that Sephora was discontinuing their Sephora by OPI line of nail polishes – I had collected quite a stash of shades over the past several years – but when I saw the makeup megastore’s new line of lacquers, I was whistling a totally different tune. Formula X is definitely a step above their previous nail polish collaboration, with a series of fingertip toppers that focuses on bold, glossy finishes, opalescent metallics, and every kind of textured glitter you could possibly imagine. And just in time for the holidays, Sephora is making it even more fun to try out their new glitzy lacquers, thanks to a holiday ornament that’s perfect for gifting, stocking-stuffing, and even gilding your own tree at home. The polish inside is a glittery gold foil that’s perfect for sprucing up your existing manicure and instantly making it cocktail party appropriate! Maybe it’s jus the beauty addict/shopaholic in me talking, but somehow a Christmas tree is even more beautiful when it’s decked out in makeup goods, am I right?
