It looks like even San Francisco-based beauty brand Benefit is jumping on Pantone’s Radiant Orchid bandwagon! Streamlining your mid-day touch-up makeup arsenal just got a whole lot easier, thanks to Benefit’s latest multipurpose product, Lollitint! The new lavender-hued shade joins the ranks of the brand’s other much-loved cheek and lip tints, Benetint, Posietint, and Cha Cha Tint, to smudge-proof color for lips and cheeks. Much like its multi-tasking stains, Lollitint adds a lightweight, blendable flush that’s buildable without caking or sweating off. Though closest in hue to the petal pink Posietint, this new “candy orchid” take on the fan-favorite product packs a bigger punch with a more opaque pigment. For those of you beauty mavens who are having cold feet about going full-out with this year’s Radiant Orchid trend, Lollitint is a flattering, more versatile way to ease into it! Plus, for $30, a little bottle goes a surprisingly long way!

Mascara, a fire engine red lip gloss, and a peachy blush. The Rich is Back is kit will retail for $34 and hits shelves on May 23rd! Will you be snatching it up? Let us know in the comments!

Benefit’s Watt’s Up Highlighter is Here to Brighten Up Your Beauty Routine

Is it too early to start compiling 2012′s Christmas wish list? Just kidding – lucky for my wallet and me, the latest makeup must-have I’ve got my sights set on is hardly a splurge and worth every penny! Benefit’s brand-new addition to their modest collection of facial highlighters, Watt’s Up, serves up a pretty cream-to-powder champagne-hued sheen that’s multi-flattering and softly gorgeous for any occasion. I’ve never been much of a blush girl, but I’ve developed a recent obsession with their more subtle cousin, as highlighters still work to sculpt and flatter without the added pressure of finding your perfect shade. Blend with fingers, a stippling brush, or the handy sponge applicator that comes with it depending on your desired effect and coverage. Oily complexions beware – be sure to use sparingly to accent cheekbones and work the light to your advantage. You may be surprised by how far a little touch of highlighter can go when it comes to boosting your overall glow!

Clutch-Worthy Beauty and Fashion Products

Do you have very little room in your evening bag? I was recently carrying a tiny clutch and had to choose exactly what would (and wouldn’t) fit inside. Here are some popular options for beauty and fashion touch-ups when you’re on the town.

Let’s take a look at what’s simple to store!

Benefit Ooh La Lift: Pop this eye-brightening stick in your clutch to brighten your eyes up very quickly. In place of one of your lip gloss sticks, store this instead. You’ll find that your face brightens up under bad lighting quickly.

Embrace Threesome: You think I’m a sicko, don’t you? Actually, “threesome” Embrace packs are little packets of things like wardrobe tape and bra barrettes to save you from slipping-down straps, ripped hems, and busting-out bras.

DuWop Lip Gloss Tin “Pure Venom”: The perfect size and 90% organic, this lip gloss still has plumping powers tucked inside its unassuming tin. Since the red Pure Berry color is very pigmented, you will find that it stains better than those bigger, bulkier tubes and pots.

Sally Hansen Quick Fast Dry Nail Color Pen: What I liked about this product is the multi-purpose quality. I wear tights and leggings a lot, and I’m petrified that my long nails will snag the fabric. Not now! You can get a Color Pen, put it in your bag to save your manicure, and use it to stop runs in your tights–assuming you have the correct shade, of course.

Quick Tip: I recently read the most amazing tip to fix manicure smudges, too! If you have a smudge on barely-wet nails, you can use a saliva-moistened finger to smooth the smudge. That won’t take up any room in your bag.

Do you have anything that fits in a clutch, and that you won’t leave home without?

Benefit’s Sunday Funday Palette Has Your Beauty Hangover Cure!

Benefit, known best for its ever-popular multi-purpose Benetint cheek and lip stains, its inky Bad Gal liner and mascara, and an array of other skincare and beauty must-haves, has just expanded its sister-founded collection to include inspiration from the owners’ nieces and daughters. The result is the Maggie and Annie collection — a duo of youthful-yet-practical themed palettes that contain everything you need to get you through a particular day or situation and the beauty ruts you may stumble upon. The Maggie Collection debuts with the Sunday Funday palette, which is all about putting together a pick-me-up look that’s fresh and revived after a long night out, just in time for your morning coffee and mimosas!

The Sunday Funday palette includes Hoola Bronzing Powder with an accompanying mini bristle brush, Benetint Rose lip and cheek stain, Shimmery Rose lip shine, Toasty Liner eyeliner, 4 eyeshadows in Shimmering Bronze, Pink Satin, Light Champagne, and Pretty In Plum, 2 shadow applicators, and a step-by-step application guide. At $38, it’s a bit on the pricey side (well, enough to make me stop and think before a compulsive buy), but considering the impressive array of products they pack into the slim palette, it’s quite the deal, not to mention totally adorable!

Beat The Heat With These 5 Summer Beauty Products
The summer heat is approaching very rapidly and just in time for Memorial Day. I got an email recently that shared some great summer beauty tips from Makeup Artist and Lash/Brow Expert Julianna Landis to keep your face looking flawless during Memorial Day Weekend and all summer long. Juliana Landis is a LA Based makeup artist and Lash/Brow Expert providing an array of beauty services at the renowned Beverly Hills Salon Umberto. I’m always thinking about my readers so here’s the lowdown on staying flawless this summer with Juliana’s essential summer beauty product picks.

Go to products for the summer should be simple and fun to keep you looking flawless all day long, even during the hottest of months.

Juliana’s Picks

  • Cle De Peau’s Concealer Stick- Landis says that her must-have for every season, especially during the summer, is a good concealer.  The creamy formula masks imperfections and covers even the darkest of circles, while looking extremely natural.

  • Another less expensive option is Benefit’s Some Kind of Gorgeous. The cream to powder foundation comes in two shades and goes on sheer to match most skin tones while making the skin look radiant.

  • Stay UV free and keep unsightly sunspots and wrinkles at bay with SPF. Juliana’s favorite, Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant Mineral SPF 30, comes in a pre-filled container with an attached brush you simply shake and brush on your face anytime of the day – genius! The super sheer and colorless sunscreen protects against harmful rays and fits in the tiniest of purses. Juliana never leaves home without it.

Benefit’s Sugarbomb Blush – the Goldilocks of Blush

  • posted March 2nd, 2010

In search of a new blush this spring season?  I know that I am!  I’m tossing my tired ol’ pink color in search of something fresh, something that makes me look like I just worked out or spent the day outdoors.

Benefit Cosmetics new Sugarbomb blush does just the trick too.  The four color combination pan comes in a generous size with a wonderful fluffy brush applicator.  The color, “Sugar Rush Flush” is made up of Peach, Rose, Plum and Pink.  To apply this lightly shimmery powder you simply swirl the applicator over the four colors and then apply it to the apples of your cheeks.  Viola! Instant glow from this slightly pigmented blush that gives you a flushed look that works on everyone.  You won’t look too done or pink-cheeked and you will have just enough soft color to brighten your face and your day.  Use it all over your face for a warmer look or just dash it on for something subtle and sweet.

Benefit’s Sugarbomb ‘Sugar Rush Flush’ is a great addition to anyone’s make-up collection for spring, summer or anytime of year.  It is ’just right’.

Impulse Buy of the Week – Benefit One Hot Minute

This is the perfect little treat to give yourself an amazing glow for holiday parties, nights out on the town and family gatherings where they’ll be plenty of pictures taken.

I loved how lightweight the powder felt on my skin (both the powder and the glitter are triple, finely milled) and it gave me a sparkly glow that was flattering without being so over the top you can’t focus on the overall makeup. I liked using it on my cheek bones, collar bone and brow bone and, at night, mixing a bit with my regular loose face powder. It has a matte finish, so the sparkles look quite natural and really enhance the skin. The cute little brush was also perfect for applying the powder exactly where I wanted it.

The actual shade of the powder is a copper/bronze hybrid. For those of you with lighter skin, this has the added benefit of acting like a light bronzer, to give the skin more color and perk up pale complexions. For darker and brown skins this is perfect for highlighting the skin and giving a beautiful glow that works with or without additional blush. – RLB
