Boy Meets Girl® by Stacy Igel Takes Over NYFW with its Fall 2013 Invasion Collections

  • posted February 25th, 2013
  • Fashion

Sporty-chic contemporary brand Boy Meets Girl® by Stacy Igel made its big New York Fashion Week comeback earlier this month with the “Invasion Collections.” The high-energy runway show featured not only new styles from the popular Boy Meets Girl® Classic Collection, but also marked the debut of two new collections, Boy Meets Girl® University and Boy Meets Girl® GIRLS! Slouchy sweatshirt-inspired tees, graffiti-scrawled jackets, plenty of poppy prints, and edgy layering pieces galore – the latest additions to the brand were the perfect mix of casual yet stylish, with a healthy dose of color that came across as fun without verging on loud. The new Fall 2013 pieces were made even more covetable with the help of some edgy accessorizing, courtesy of Melody Ehsani jewelry and Go Jane wedge sneakers. Founder and Creative Director Stacy Igel explained her inspiration for the bold color choices and styles, saying, “This season I was inspired by the “BritPop” music scene of the early 90s where bands such as Oasis, Blur, Suede, and later on The Spice Girls, developed a unique British reaction to the various musical and cultural trends of the period in the United States at that time.” Check out more of Boy Meets Girl’s casual-cool apparel on the brand’s official site!

Stacy says she was thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate on an original web series with Lockerz because  “They offered me an exciting platform to share my adventures and give fans more insight into what goes into building a top fashion brand.” With six episodes down, and only two more to go she says she hopes the series “inspires people to have fun, work hard, live their dream, and express their own personal style every day.”

With such positive responses from the series so far, the possibilities for Stacy and her brand seem endless! We have a feeling there will be lots more to come even after the cameras stop rolling.

Fun Tees for a Cause: Breast Cancer Awareness and Boy Meets Girl

  • posted October 20th, 2011

Five fun and fabulous tees for a great cause. For the Breast Cancer Awareness month of October, Boy Meets Girl has teamed up with the Young Survival Coallition where every one of these five stylishly designed graphic t-shirts by Boy Meets Girl® will donate 10% from each sale to the Young Survival Coalition – a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and education to young women with breast cancer. Breast Cancer Awareness really hits home with the ladies of Boy Meets Girl, losing their friend Kristen Martinez at the age of 35 after a five year battle with the disease. In 2008 and 2010, with their collaboration with Urban Outfitters, the team was able to donate $13,000 by selling the BCA Boy Meets Girl Tote. For 2011, they’re hoping to provide more donations towards a cure with the “Andi-ee” tee, “Possible-tee” tee, “Up All Night” tee, “Drama Queen” tee, and the “Naughty and Nice” tee. With their spunky colors, cheeky graphics, and funky design it’s easy to help out a great cause and make a fabulous fashion statement whether you’re walking around campus or running errands. It’s not too late to do your good deed this BCA month. Just click and pick your favorite! My personal pick is the “Naughty and Nice” tee. With the words “Bad Girls Eat Candy” printed across the front, it’s hard not to become a favorite for a sweet tooth driven, sugar-lover like myself.
