Impulse Buy of the Week – Benefit One Hot Minute

This is the perfect little treat to give yourself an amazing glow for holiday parties, nights out on the town and family gatherings where they’ll be plenty of pictures taken.

I loved how lightweight the powder felt on my skin (both the powder and the glitter are triple, finely milled) and it gave me a sparkly glow that was flattering without being so over the top you can’t focus on the overall makeup. I liked using it on my cheek bones, collar bone and brow bone and, at night, mixing a bit with my regular loose face powder. It has a matte finish, so the sparkles look quite natural and really enhance the skin. The cute little brush was also perfect for applying the powder exactly where I wanted it.

The actual shade of the powder is a copper/bronze hybrid. For those of you with lighter skin, this has the added benefit of acting like a light bronzer, to give the skin more color and perk up pale complexions. For darker and brown skins this is perfect for highlighting the skin and giving a beautiful glow that works with or without additional blush. – RLB

Copper Eyeshadow for a Bold Winter Look

As the season wears on and heads toward winter, the color in your skin can fade to the point where you feel like you just look washed out all the time.  The temptation is to load up on mascara or eyeliner to compensate, but of course the risk there is that you end up looking a little more Morticia Adams than you had hoped.

Copper eyeshadow is coming to the rescue this season, as a bold alternative to the skin and peach tones usually turn to, and a softer alternative to the drama of black.  And copper suits more skin types than gold does, so it’s versatile.  A lot of companies are doing various shades of copper right now; I love this soft, glittery “Fard Lumiere” water resistant shadow from Yves Saint Laurent which can also double as a bronzer.

Katherine Heigl’s Effortlessly Rosy Cheeks

She’s Trendy, but Flattering Her Brunette Hairstyle

Katherine Heigl posed away before visiting The David Letterman Show, and we think her mahogany locks are just ravishing! The Ugly Truth beauty rocked simple style with rosy cheeks, and we want the look. Here’s what’s trendy right now for blushes.

Blush this season should look effortless–doesn’t Katherine’s blend in so well with her hair and skin tone?–but still look fresh and young. For a non-obvious look when applying blush, try sweeping it near your temples instead of directly on the apple of your cheeks.

Use a light hand with bronzers this summer. Katherine Heigl’s never super tan, but that amazing contouring job here makes her cheekbones look fab–and makes her look rested!

One blush recently highlighted in InStyle mag was Physicians Formula Summer Strips Blush, which can lend a summery, multidimensional glow for under $15. Delish!

Get Bronze Like Eva Longoria at Cannes

Use Waterproof Bronzer and Beat the Heat

Eva Longoria-Parker looked gorgeous at Cannes for multiple days on end, and she definitely had a soft, tan glow going on. You can get that, too, even if you live in an uber-humid environment!

The Cargo Water Resistant Bronzer has been formulated to kick heat and moisture to give you that coveted summertime glow, and the price is quite reasonable at $28. According to Sephora, the secret behind that special formula is a silicone-coated talc that sticks to the skin better through humidity. The medium bronze shade works with a lot of complexions.

Here we come, Eva Longoria-worthy glow!
