Denim leggings complete your winter wardrobe!

Out of the blue, a couple of days ago, it suddenly occurred to me that my winter wardrobe is sadly incomplete without a pair of denim leggings. Trying to find where this flash of intuition came from, I uickly realized that denim leggings are a perfect fusion of the stretchy comfort of leggings with a the sleek silhouette of skinny jeans, which appear to have reigned supreme in the denim universe. Plus, they’re great to tuck into knee-high slim boots, and look great with slouchy tops or tunics, long cardigans or over dresses. (I picked up my pair at Brooklyn Industries for $58.00, so “hot off the sewing machine” that they’re not on their website yet.) But here are a few more nice pairs:

DG2 Denim Look Leggings $39.90 from HSN;
Joe’s Jeans Denim Zip Leggings $78.00 at Neiman Marcus;
Juicy Couture Denim Leggings, regularly $88.00, now $70.40 at Bloomingdale’s

Denim Leggings Abound

It was only a matter of time before the skinny jeans spun out of control and merged with the ’80s trend and newly-revisited leggings craze. Denim Jeggings are not quite jeans, not quite leggings, but they have the best aspects of both. Of course, you can’t just wear these like you would any other jeans – if you don’t find leggings flattering, then it may be best to skip these. But for those who really rock the long and lean look, denim leggings can become a cornerstone of your winter wardrobe this year

In the ’80s we wore skinny jeans with a big bulky sweatshirt, but this time around it’s all about accentuating the figure. Try these Juicy Couture Denim Leggings or Current Elliott Leggings in Jet Black Overdye with a v-neck or scoop neck tee, and if you do want something loose over the hips area, go for a long cardigan that belts at the waist.

Try a pair of pointed toe pumps or basic black ballet flats to polish off your look.
