Long and Lean – Gap Nautical Style Jeans

I’m average height myself, but I have several female friends who are taller than 5′10″, and whenever we talk fashion, the conversation always comes around to complaints about pant leg and sleeve length.  Long-sleeved shirts actually end in the middle of the forearm, and pants end up looking more like capris.  I’m only average height, and sometimes long sleeves are even too short for me – it must be frustrating if that happens to you with pretty much every piece of clothing you try on.

Every tall girl I know tells me the same thing: shop at The Gap for casual clothes.  They have an entire section for tall women, and it’s not just that the garments are longer – they’re actually constructed with a tall woman’s proportions in mind.  For example, check out these nautical jeans.  They’re not just a longer inseam; they have a lower knee, and are tailored to fit the hips of taller women.

Dress Down Sequins For Day

Sequins are a huge trend this season, and they’re no longer just for evening and holiday parties. It’s entirely appropriate this fall to sport a sequined blazer with distressed denim or a sequined miniskirt with a casual graphic tee. This trend is daring, eye-catching, and fun – so get creative with it!

Free People has really nailed this trend this season with affordable sequin pieces that mix effortlessly with jeans and other daytime pieces. Here are some of our favorites:

Everyone needs a perfect pair of comfy jeans and since mine are going to need to be replaced soon, I did a bit of searching and found some great deals on these super soft and comfy, organic blue jeans. Bravo Announces Real Housewives Clothing Line

New York? Atlanta? Orange County?

We already know some of the Real Housewives have their own clothing lines. But now, Bravo is coming out with an actual Real Housewives clothing line. Are you as confused as we are?

Well, allegedly the clothing line is going to consist of apparel inspired by the fashion and style of the Real Housewives. But aren’t the Real Housewives all incredibly different? Not only from city to city, but within each city as well.

According to the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Bravo Media, “Since launching Bravo Media, we have had incredible success with our brand extensions… We’re dedicated to providing high quality products to our passionate consumers, as well as opportunities for our viewers to experience our series beyond their TV screens. Royal Plush’s contemporary designs reflect the bold, stylish and fun personalities of our Real Housewives.” Well, bold, stylish, and fun does describe most of the housewives. Though some of them are more angry than anything. But we guess that wouldn’t translate well to clothing.

It’s said the line will consist of premium denim, loungewear, activewear, handbags, and accessories. And you won’t have to wait long as the Real Housewives inspired line is said to be coming out this fall!

We’re not sure how well the line will do though. It’s not even a celebrity clothing line; it’s more of a network clothing line.

Are you excited about a Real Housewives inspired line? Let us know in comments!

Diesel Denim Jeans for Men

diesel-jeans

Whenever I see guy’s jeans that I like, they’re always Diesel. I’m always trying to convince my husband to buy a pair, because he’s always complaining about the structure of his jeans: they wear out too quickly, stretch out too quickly, get too baggy too fast. But I’ve never seen a bad looking pair of Diesel jeans.

Unfortunately my husband is NOT likely to part with what it costs to, well, essentially guarantee that your jeans are going to look good! So I did a little digging and I found some Diesel discount sites as well as places that sell for a slightly reduced price. You might have to pick up last year’s styles, but I know plenty of guys who just wouldn’t care.

Transition Your Boyfriend Jeans For Fall

Fans of boyfriend jeans will be thrilled to know that they’re not just a spring/summer trend. To rock them in the fall, pile on layers like cardigans, blazers, leather jackets and more. On your feet, you can wear ballet flats or heels for as long as your bare ankles can stand the cold. When the temperature drops, turn to ankle boots instead. Below are some runway looks and shoe choices for inspiration:

Men’s Wide Legged Jeans – A Fashion “Do?”

mens-loose-denim-jeans

One of the denim looks for guys this fall is wide-cut jeans, but these aren’t as sloppy as you’d think, and they don’t look like what I remember years go. This style of jeans is not fitted, even around the hips, but they’re also not completely shapeless, if you can imagine that.  The idea is to pair them with a loose button-down, or with sweaters as the weather chills.

I can certainly see the appeal of having some comfortable jeans for autumn and winter, and with prices on these jeans starting around just $25, you really can’t go wrong.  You may as well try the look and see how it works for you – I’m guessing that this will be really flattering on guys with a more substantial build.  Guys who are more slim may want to stick with a style that won’t swallow them up.

B+S Wants—J Brand/Hussein Chalayan Denim Jodhpurs

J Brand co-founder/designer Susie Crippen in the collab Hussein Chalayan denim jodhpurs; click to expand

Alright, I know I just posted about the J Brand Gallery at Ron Herman Melrose yesterday, but while it’s still fresh on the mind, I wanted to tell you what’s been on my mind ever since—the J Brand/Hussein Chalayan jodhpur-esque jeans. I was immediately transfixed on J Brand co-founder/designer Susie Crippen at the launch Saturday: Did I like them? Are they crazy? Now, I’m a bit obsessed. I’m going to have to go back and at least try a pair on to see if the looseness/bunching at the thigh and knee, tightness through the calf and ankle works as well pour moi as it does for a seriously toned and lithe Crippen. The fit might not be the only thing that stands in my way, as the collab collection runs in the $200-plus arena (which, I actually thought would be more). Fortunately, obsessing is totally free.
