Lisa Teams Up with Urban Outfitters For More 90s Nostalgia

If all the 90s-inspired, raver-chic beauty products like glow-in-the-dark nail polish and neon lipstick haven’t been enough to bring you back to your younger days, this oughta do the trick! Urban Outfitters has teamed up with Lisa Frank yet again for another throwback capsule collection that’ll be sure to bring out your inner schoolgirl. I don’t know about you, but I associate Lisa Frank with the stuff that back-to-school dreams were made of – rainbow leopard three-ring binders, glittery dolphin folders, gummy erasers in the shape of puppies – and the latest Urban Outfitters collaboration is putting a 2013 twist on our favorite whimsical Lisa Frank imagery. A collection of five exclusive muscle tees are ready to invade your summer wardrobe and have you reminiscing about the good ol’ days in no time. Collect them all and you’ll most certainly be the envy of all your homeroom classmates…. er, friends? Matching neon lipstick is not required, but highly encouraged.

Suno Brings Their Famed Prints & Patterns to Uniqlo!

It’s been several months since the much-anticipated Uniqlo store opened up in San Francisco, and while the lines that coiled all around the block just to get in have died down, it’s still consistently packed. And for good reason, too – Uniqlo offers up easy-to-wear basics at ridiculously affordable prices that rival even Forever 21′s… and that’s saying something! And now the megastore’s upcoming collaboration with Suno is making it even more impossible to pass up on my next shopping trip! Famed for their mixed prints, patterns, and luxe textiles, Suno offers up pieces would normally set you back somewhere in the mid-hundreds…. but starting May 20, you can shop their capsule collection for Uniqlo, with prices capped at $39.90! The collection is inspired by Japanese Americana, so shoppers can expect blossom-printed denim, flouncy full skirts, and effortlessly chic t-shirt dresses. That is, if you beat the crowd and are lucky enough to get your hands on these coveted summer pieces!

Derek Lam for Kohl’s Helps us Get in a Rio State of Mind

Any bargain-loving fashionista is likely already well-versed in the many designer-for-less collaborations from the likes of Target, H&M, Uniqlo, and more… and now Kohl’s DesigNation program is proving that the superstore is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to copping designer looks for less! Derek Lam is the second designer to create a capsule collection for DesigNation, following in the footsteps of Narciso Rodriguez, and he’s channeling the spirit of Rio de Janeiro with a bright, festive spring/summer collection that’s sensual and fun but still sophisticated. Urban meets jungle in this versatile mix of trousers, shirt dresses, silky blouses, maxi skirts and more, with pieces priced from $36 to $98. The collection has already been out for a month, so unfortunately, some of the hot-ticket items are already sold out… but better late than never, right? Plus, there’s still plenty more sexy summer sundresses and fancy printed pants to go around! Shop the full collection here!

Pierre Hardy for NARS Collaboration Launches Early!

If there’s anything I love almost as much as a new pair of shoes, it’s a fresh bottle of nail polish. Clearly, I’m not alone, and NARS’ new collaboration with Pierre Hardy is uniting my favorite things in a way that totally has me feeling spring fever! The Parisian shoe designer partnered up with lauded makeup brand NARS, marking Hardy’s first beauty collaboration ever (and not a shabby first foray into the beauty biz, might I add!) to create a series of co-branded nail polish duos and blushes, all inspired by Pierre Hardy’s Summer 2013 shoe collection. The polish pairs, which retail for $29, combine nudes with metallics, muted taupes with springy pinks, and contrasting shades like soft peach with deep blackberry, perfect for an on-trend take on the French manicure or our personal favorite, the half-moon mani! The blush compacts ($41), on the other hand, are embossed with Hardy’s signature cubic print to give them a little extra pizzazz. Shop the collaboration collection now before it’s gone, even before its original official release date (May 1st)!

J. Mendel For Hunter Boots: Perfect For Cozy Winter Frolicking

I can’t imagine ranking so high up on Santa’s Nice List that I’m able to deserve a gift as luxurious as a pair of boots from J. Mendel’s collaboration with Hunter…. but hey, a girl can dream! As if Hunter Boots weren’t iconic and fabulous enough on their own, J. Mendel takes them up a notch! Lined with genuine shearling with muskrat trim (sadly, no faux fur here), these stylish beauties combine J. Mendel’s designer touch with the reliable functionality and durability of everything you know and love about Hunter. Available in white and black rubber, as well as tall or short versions of the limited-edition design, these boots are the ultimate winter must-have for anyone who frequently has to brave harrowing weather on her daily commute (and for those who just want to look the part). Snow bunny inspired but undeniably practical to boot, these babies come with an equally impressive price tag. If your shopping budget doesn’t have room for a $795 pair of boots… like I said, a girl can dream!

A First Look at Nicole Richie’s Line For Macy’s Impulse!

  • posted September 1st, 2012
  • Fashion

Famous fashionista Nicole Richie isn’t new to the design realm –from House of Harlow 1960 to Winter Kate – and she’s more than proved that she’s got a certain knack for standout shoes, jewelry, and on-trend boho-chic apparel. That’s right – her upcoming collection for Macy’s Impulse department, due out September 12th, is already Nicole’s third line, and until now, the few scarce snapshots of what’s in store have been a total tease! Now that we’ve gotten a better look, it’s safe to say that this more budget-friendly collection will not disappoint fans of Nicole’s previous fashion creations. From free-flowing maxi dresses, autumn-friendly minis that beg to be paired with textured tights, and bohemian-inspired prints galore, Nicole manages to stay true to her retro-modern aesthetic that’s undeniably influenced by the 60s and 70s, yet still totally now. In fact, it’s almost scary how well she manages to bring everything we love about carefree, breezy summer fashion and make it effortlessly fall festive. Don’t miss it when the line hits Macy’s Impulse later this month!

Cynthia Rowley Teams Up With Tweezerman

Unless they’re freshly-sharpened or blinged out with rhinestones, I rarely get excited about a new pair of tweezers. After all, everyone already knows that Tweezerman tweezers are the only way to go, so once you have a pair that you love and you’re good about not losing them (unlike me!), there’s no reason to replace them. That is, unless you’ve found a pair that are really ridiculously cute, like the latest Cynthia Rowley creations. Yes, the girly designer has teamed up with Tweezerman to create a series of candy-colored versions of our favorite beauty tools, available through both Tweezerman and Sephora. Festive and flirty polka-dots and stripes adorn the brand’s classic tweezer, as well as a mini travel version and a nail file. Not only are they super adorable, but they also make it easy to tell your tools apart from your roommates’! After all, if you’re going to invest in a pair of award-winning tweezers, you might as well do it in style!

Bundle Up In The Latest Looks From Opening Ceremony For Adidas!

Just in time for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Opening Ceremony and Adidas Originals have joined forces to create a capsule collection of international-inspired looks that you can enjoy even after the weather cools down! The collaboration exhibits the perfect blend of sportiness and stylishness, from zippered skirts to halter tops and even Olympics-inspired jelly sandals, and the result of their joint forces is certainly extensive, but in my opinion, the most stand-out pieces of the collection are the funky jackets and printed ponchos. Aside from stand-out patterns and brilliant colors, these outerwear pieces are also undeniably practical, with their reversible and convertible silhouettes including zip-off sleeves, removable panels and hoods, and of course, pockets galore! Plus, they’re unisex, so be sure to grab a matching coat for your significant other to bundle up for next season (or not)! Check out the full collabo over on the Opening Ceremony official site!

God Bless The USA! Libertine For Aldo Rise’s Patriotic Sandals

Anyone who knows me is aware that I’m a fiend for collaborations between designers and budget brands, so you’ll have to imagine the shame I feel for only just hearing about Aldo Rise. A collaboration between wallet-friendly shoe shop Aldo and four cutting-edge designers, Aldo Rise brings four exclusive mini-collections that add a little extra fashion cred to the store’s usual roll-out of spring and summer styles. And just in time for Independence Day, NY-based Libertine offers up an undeniably festive pair of chunky-heeled, striped sandals that definitely bear a striking resemblance to the American flag. Fun and whimsical, yet with a sophisticated, retro-inspired silhouette, these sandals are the perfect way to infuse a little patriotism into your 4th of July outfit as you barbecue it up during the day and cozy up to watch the fireworks at night. You’ll be the envy of all your fellow party-goers… as long as you promise not to pair them with an entire matching red-white-and-blue Uncle Sam outfit.
