Maestro Classics- The Tortoise and the Hare


Maestro Classics is a wonderful way to share and explore the world of music and classic storytelling with your child.  This fable is the eighth audio release from Stories and Music CD series.  The award-winning story of the Tortoise and the Hare is told through the use of narrator and symphony orchestra.

Conductor and Composer Stephen Simon has created an original score for this CD while the London Philharmonic Orchestra provides the music.  What I really love about this edition from Maestro Classics is that it includes six supplemental tracks, information about how the music was composed including information about the tale and an original Dixieland rendition of a fun song called the, “Pretzel Vendor of Paris.” There is a family sing-along and a 24-page activity book that has beautiful illustrations by children’s book illustrator Renee Andriani too.

All of Maestro Classics CD’s are educational and fun.  The Tortoise and the Hare is a timeless story that teaches children a valuable lesson about patience and kindness.  It teaches children how to hone their listening skills, the importance of listening and doing something together as a family as well as gathering musical memories.  I still remember hearing Peter and the Wolf as a first-grader.  Your child and your whole family will love Maestro Classics.

Customers bring digital media such as a memory card, CD or USB flash drive (Picture Keeper!) to their local CVS/pharmacy’s photo kiosk and select the “photo book” option, which automatically populates a book template with the selected photos. The pages are customizable by rearranging the pictures, changing the size of the photos, adding text and choosing from a variety of available backgrounds. I forgot to print photographs or just didn’t because it seemed like a hassle but when I got a photo printer that changed. My photo printer (HP) goes with me on vacations because I know that if I don’t print an exciting photo right away, it might never be printed and will get lost in the mix until I come across it on the computer a couple of years later. Photo printers are available for every budget and in lots of sizes including convenient travel sizes.

For two weeks in a row now, I am still in the process of moving. Dragging my extremely large wardrobe from one city to another is a workout. Not only is it a hassle, its eye-opening to realize your closet is in need of something fabulous, something original, one of a kind really!  Well, after unearthing Manhattan’s in the know secret that is Deibe Rondon, I felt rejuvenated- like I finally found what was missing!  Sophisticated, minimalist, and chic, are three words I would use to describe Venezuelan born designer Deibe Rondon’s collections, season after season.

Rondon began designing his first collection in 2005, after graduating from FIT, while interning with Douglas Hannant Couture Atelier.

His extensive training has paid off, making this twenty seven year old, Gael Garcia Bernal look alike, one hot designer! His pieces can be found in specialty boutiques in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Madrid. You can also purchase pieces from his S/S 2009 collection here, online.

This wunderkind was introduced to fashion at an early age. His mother taught for UNITE, and designed for Bill Blass. It only makes sense, that he would follow in her stylish footsteps, and design himself!
