Breast Cancer Awareness month is upon us, ‘Pink’ products abound—the idea being you buy something for yourself or as a gift, with either partial or all proceeds going to non-profits aiming to help with regards to research, care, and, of course, awareness. The options are seemingly endless, and it can start feeling like big business in and of itself. But the bottom line is that too many of us our affected—ourselves, moms, aunts, children, grandparents, friends, spouses—and I think it’s important not to get cynical as I do believe it makes people think. I have to say, I was heartened by all the pink I saw, from hats to cleats, on Monday night football.

So here are some Pink gems I’ve come across that I thought particularly lovely…

<span class= <span class= <span class= <span class=

Love the charm and sophistication of all the fabulous pictures! Flowers, mirrors and books are my favourite objects to decorate and add some charm to any room!
You can find affordable mirrors at flea market or even major retail stores (yes Walmart, Target..you name it)..the trick is buying some great paint spray and transform the frame.
Hope you have a fantastic week..full of charm!!

Summer House by Ralph Lauren

<span class=<span class=

Event though I am exploring other decorating styles..classical Ralph Lauren still works for me! Love how they broke the blue and white with fabulous flowers bouquets in a yellow-orangy ( I Google the meaning of it and it is “symbolize passion and excitement and are an expression of fervent romance…”). More fab decor photos after the jump!

B+S Wants—Bare Minimum, This Soon to Scatter Ring

2009_08_04_bare_ring

I’ve written about designer Jeet Sohal’s lovely Bare Collection before, specifically the Day Tripper handbag in sublime slouchy leather (which is also still on the Wants list!). Now, Sohal gives us even more to love with the collision of her leather work and mixed metal jewelry, as evidenced above with this Soon to Scatter Ring, hand cut, stitched and moulded into a striking bloom. It’s currently avail via Anthropologie.com ($98), as is the Whorled Alba Necklace ($198), which has a modern-meets-vintage vibe.

Fun, Feminine & Flirty: It’s The Floral Trend for Summer

roses

Flowers are a welcome trend this summer. The frilly feminine floral trend takes all shapes this season. From garden party floral prints seen on dresses and blouses to floral shoes, belts and even sunglasses. Be sure to take advantage on this trend while warm weather days are still upon us. The pretty Rebecca Taylor crepe de Chine  dress is playful and sweet in a charming heritage-print. Pair this dress with a pair of gladiator sandals for a bit of urban edge. Fendi’s rose detailed sunglasses feature a tiny  almost tattoo-like rose on the front of the frame. Wrap your waist with a pretty floral belt as seen with the J.Crew fabric belt and the ultra-luxe Kenneth Jay Lane Crystal Flower Belt. On your feet take a cue from these sky-high Louboutin Ronda Dina platforms or if you prefer flats the Giuseppe Zanotti Satin Rose sandals. The floral trend for accessories and dresses is perfect for summer garden weddings, vacationing and cocktail lawn parties. Whatever the occasion, you’ll have a bloomin’ good time dressed up in fabulous florals.

Qs+As—Krislyn’s Striking, Beguiling Botanicals

1_krislyn_cloud

Krislyn Komarov and her team of designers have me completely transfixed by their gloriously creative, modern windows. Last week, spiky coral and tubular deep-sea creatures, all white, took center stage. Inside, Krislyn design studio and boutique teems with botanical objects beyond imagination—dreamy feather trees, flowers made from pink clam shells, trees with branches of delicate mushrooms, seashell tiaras. It is otherworldly and earthly all at once. And, of course, don’t forget the fresh fleurs, arranged into stunning concoctions.

Occupation: Botanical Designer

Location: 8216 West 3rd Street, LA 90048

Fabrications, materials, inspiration. Your three-word response: Fresh or preserved botanicals

If you could bestow one of your current creations on the world, which would it be and why? Our woolen cloud mobiles. Clouds have always had a special meaning to me. I have hundreds of digital photos of clouds because I can’t stop taking them! When people buy one of our mobiles, comments usually consist of “I just bought a cloud, I can’t wait to hang it.” They are whimsical, dreamy and put people in a happy place.

From showbiz to florals, True Blood fan to Loteria…

How did it all begin?
I opened my first shop 17 years ago in a tiny space on South Lake Avenue in Pasadena. After leaving the entertainment business, I needed to do something creative. I have always included found objects, stones and anything I can find to turn upside down and incorporate it into a unique piece.

An average day consists of…
I start waking up with my “Bugs,” my 3 year old daughter, kiss my husband goodbye, then off to the studio to meet with clients, do visual design proposals and brainstorm with the design team. After work, hang with the neighbors (I live on Drexel) before the kids’ bed time. Make dinner and hang with my hubby and off to dreamland.

I want! I want! Where can I find your offerings? Besides our retail boutique and website, I have a few special pieces at Icon Interiors on Beverly Boulevard, Fred Segal “Green” in Santa Monica.

Jewels—Ban.do’s Bountiful Corsages

2009_06_30_bando_corsages
Ban.do has made a name for itself with its pretty, playful headbands—feathered, floral, beaded, ribbon-ed and in varieties fit for a flapper, flower child, party girl or high tea connoisseur.

Now, DailyCandy features Ban.do’s fanciful corsages, brimming with vintage silk flowers, neatly held by a brooch pin with safety clasp. My favorites are ‘Lucile‘ (shown top left) in its soft palette of barely pinks and bolder ‘Vivien‘ (shown bottom left), making a statement in orange and coral. Each is a bit of an investment at $225, but it lasts ages longer than the fresh kind, even taking you stylishly into your golden years.
