Carlos Falchi Rivet-Detailed Leather Doctor Bag

Carlos-Falchi

The doctor bag has gone from solely functional to functional and fashionable. This new combination is right up my alley. I am always interested in seeing new version of doctor bags. There are some doctor bags that you look at and notice its classic shape right away. Then there are other options, like the Carlos Falchi Rivet-Detailed Leather Doctor Bag, where the doctor bag theme is understated. Carlos Falchi knows how to take a classic design and put a modern spin on it.

This dark, navy blue leather handbag is fabulous. The intricate studded design and drawstrings along the sides adds a nice simple yet edgy feel to the bag. The interior boasts logo lining, tons of pockets, a money clip, pen holders and a center zip divider. All of the storage options are fantastic for a larger handbag like this. With the large size of the bag, storage options means that you can place your must-have items within a hands grab. The 9.75″ shoulder drop offers the chance to carry the bag on your shoulder or in your hand. Again, options are good and Falchi knows how to make things good!

Organize Your Bag and Your Life

purse-organizers

You love your big purse. It fits not just your wallet, phone and lipstick it can also hold that book you’ve been meaning to read, a few lost pens, a brush and possibly a sippy cup, and a diaper or five.  However, when you need one of the important items that your purse should always possess (that wallet!) you can’t find it.  The same goes for long flights with the kids, trips to the store with a toddler and more.  You need organization and it can come easily just by choosing the right way to organize your bag and possibly your life.

The Pouchee- Designed for those trendy bags that also become bottomless pits.  Simply place all your important cards, cash, phone and more.  It’s easy to use, comes in many styles and colors and can be transferred from one bag to the next.

Fleurville Re-Run MicroPod- This handy pouch is perfect for when you are on the go.  It can hold your phone, ipod, sunglasses, even a diaper, wipes and changing pad. The MicroPod is great for flying or short trips.  The fleece-lined pocket keeps your items scratch-free and it even has an ear piece “pass-through” for your phone or ipod.

Joey Junior Purse Organizer-  If you prefer a roll up version then the Joey Junior Original is for you.  Easy to fill up with all your purse needs and easy to roll up and place in your handbag, you will never feel disorganized again.

Join the Chain Gang for Link Embellished Accessories

link-accessories

The multi-link chain has my heart all wrapped up for fall. I’ve been lusting over chain accessories as they add a touch of classic whimsy to any outfit. The classic chain and ribbon look was made famous by Chanel and now is reinterpreted by other designers, each adding their own bit of individual ‘charm’! Chain links add a bold edge of metallic linkage to shoes, handbags, belts, wellie boots and jewelry such as the Lanvin pearl and chain necklaces leading the trend. An extreme example of this trend applied to shoes is the Camilla Skovgaard satin chain-embellished sandal with a dramatic rubber serrated sole.  Metal, metal and more metal is every where and as I’ve said before it is best paired with black. If you’ve started your shopping for fall yet, you’d have to be blind to miss the tables full of metal studded booties and metal embellished accessories on display.

These chain accessories are a nice complement to the stud trend, but please wear with restraint. This is one trend you can most definitely shop your closet for. Most everyone has an old charm bracelet or link chained handbag in their closet. Perhaps pair the chain handbag with a white tee and skinny jeans and sky high black patent platforms.

Some of our picks for this chain accessory trend include (top left clockwise):

Camilla Skovgaard Satin chain-embellished sandals, $440 at Net-a-Porter
McQ Leather belt, $235 at Net-a-Porter
Yves Saint Laurent Small satin chain-strap bag, $1,295 at Net-a-Porter
Lanvin Pearl and grosgrain necklace, $1,155 at Net-a-Porter
Juicy Couture It girl charm bracelet, $178 at Juicy Couture
Burberry Chain-embellished Wellington boots, $395 at Net-a-Porter

Halston Allen Medium Studded Satchel

halston-studded-satchel

From time to time all I want is something different. I want a handbag that will stand out, that will catch an eye and that more than anything else, is very unique. For a time like this, the Halston Allen Medium Studded Satchel would be perfect. Fringe and studding are extremely popular right now and personally I like them both. Maybe not on the same bag, but I do think these details can really complete a bag. This satchel demonstrates how to properly use studding on a bag. The bag is slouchy, the leather is supple and the studding is what instantly drew me in. This is a unique bag that can be carried for so many occasions!

Bottega Veneta Metallic Leather Tote

Bottega-Veneta
There are some handbag designs out there you can identify from just about a mile away. Even if you aren’t a handbag fanatic, it is pretty easy to spot, say a Louis Vuitton bag adorned with the classic LV monogram all over the bag. Or perhaps it is the intrecciato woven leather design of Bottega Veneta that has you mesmerized. Yet, there is still something wonderful about a designer who does something a bit different with a bag from time to time.

Take the Bottega Venetal Metallic Leather Tote for example. At first glance, I wouldn’t have thought this was a Bottega Veneta bag. Yet, it is. This oversized metallic leather design has gorgeous chain-link and leather straps with intricate wave seams along the bottom. In true BV fashion, the leather is still soft and supple. Open up the large tote and you will find soft, suede lining. This is the perfect kind of tote for so many different occasions. And in fact, no matter where you carry it, you are bound to look fashionable.

Vintage Post Of the Day: Vintage Velvet Pucci Handbag

brightpaisbag
Brace yourselves, ladies, for fashion’s velvet revolution. The last time this much velvet strutted down runways was back in the 1990s. But what was once reserved for evening wear and the occasion blazer or coat, is being worked by today’s designers into casual day dresses, harem pants, and yes, even leggings.

If you’re not quite ready to fully embrace this trend, however, you can always dip your toe into the water with a colorful velvet accessory like today’s VPOD.

This 1960s velvet handbag with a bright paisley print resembles a much higher-priced brand (hint: it rhymes with hoochie and isn’t Gucci). It’s listed as very good condition with surface stains and dirt. Heck, isn’t that what most of our purses look like after a few uses? And this little baby is only $70!

That makes it a velvet bargain for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Enokiworld.
