Room of the Day!

There is something very intimate & glamorous about this room! Love the sofa’s headboard! What a great balance between the soft cream color of the sofa and the masculine leather chair…! You can find me here tonight after a long day…having some wine with a good friend!! {Image via Canadian House & Home}

Interior Inspiration: Best Publications to Improve Your Home’s Style!

home-decor-books

Seriously, there’s nothing I love more than flipping through a well-done magazine. Whether it’s showcasing the hottest trends for fall, or seeing all the fabulous editorial photoshoots — I love them! That’s just one of the reasons I love going to the bookstore and picking up a couple home design mags. For around $20, I can imagine all the ways I could change my place – paint this/move that, etc! My favorite is Elle Decor, because they have celebrity homes that are simply unbelievable. For instance, last issue, they showed Anna Sui’s abode – amazing prints and all! My favorite hardbound selection can sometimes be hard to find, but the Domino: Book of Decorating is great for determining your style, and solving different space solutions – like renting a tiny studio.

Take a Closer Look at Rachel Zoe’s LA House

<spanSPELLING_ERROR_0
From red carpet dressing to design collaborations, advertising campaigns to editorial shoots and runway shows, Rachel Zoe is the go-to force among fashionistas when looking for a dose of effortlessly chic style. Season 2 of The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo premiered last Monday August 24. Perfect timing to take a closer look at her LA pad -even though you get to see parts of it on the show you quite not get the entire look of the house.

This fabulous pictures from Welcome Home where taken by Richard Powers.

‘My work life is really busy so this is my oasis where I can hang out with my husband. It’s also central, so it’s near my clients and the red carpet events they attend,’ says Rachel

Jessica Alba shows her Green Home

InStyle Magazine did an article on Jessica Alba sometime ago that I wanted to share with you!. I applaud her commitment for living green and taking it to the next level! More power to her!

They chose a saltwater pool…the best way to avoid swimming in chemicals. Specially, if you have kids since it does not irritate the eyes as chlorine does. Believe it or not they used synthetic turf..I know this is the way to go (no maintenance required and no pesticide) but I am not there yet. I am more for living a natural greener life…sorry no fake for me!

They decorated the house using all recycled furniture from antique stores, flea markets and Alba’s previous furniture!

Another green choice..no carpet! A couple of years ago I took away the carpet from my house and I am so happy with the decision. Overall, in addition to all the chemicals found in carpet I just think that they are just dirty and much more high maintenance. Do you like her green house? and her green choices?

Experience the Best of Minimalism and Luxury at London’s Rough Luxe!

roughluxehotel
Whenever I travel, I’m either looking for a simple and cheap place to sleep for a night or an all out luxurious experience in a beautiful suite. Rough Luxe in London can be described as somewhere in the middle. Located in the up-and-coming King’s Cross, Rough Luxe calls themselves as “A little bit of luxury in a rough part of London. A little bit of rough in a luxurious London.” and they couldn’t have said it better. The small and intimate hotel may only have 9 rooms (and just 3 have private bathrooms) and the chipped paint and stripped walls may seem a little dingy, but it certainly adds to the artsy starving artist vibe. Looks aside, the service makes up for everything. The manager Leo and his dog Spud make their guests feel right at home with dinner recommendations, a tour of their gallery and evening drinks with other guests. So if you’re looking for something in between a student hostel and the Four Seasons, consider staying at the Rough Luxe Hotel the next time you’re in London. Take a peek at my slideshow to see more!
