Marc by Marc Jacobs Masters The Colorful Oversized Watch at Watch Station!

It’s official: I’m a recently re-converted watch lover. In this day and age in which our most trusted timepiece is our cell phone and some elementary schools don’t even teach kids how to tell time in analog form anymore (seriously!), watches as functional items are becoming increasingly obsolete. But as with many fashion trends that are clearly more for fashion than function (gauzy scarves that don’t keep you warm, peep-toe booties, sequins, etc.) – I’ve come around from my skepticism and am ready to embrace the realm of candy-colored watches, whether or not I actually need an extra reminder of what time it is! This season, Marc by Marc Jacobs has plenty of bold-faced pieces to consider, from brightly hued leather to oversized silicone straps that fit comfortably on your wrist alongside this season’s equally color-festive friendship bracelets and metal-studded fare! More luxe than that Casio Baby-G you used to rock back in junior high, yet still plenty of fun, these watches from Watch Station will help you have your most stylish, colorful summer yet!

Bijoux d’Enfant Mother and Child Collection

Charme Silkiner Bijoux d' Enfant Collection

Many of my girlfriends are either new moms or having babies, and I’ve been
in search of the perfect mother’s day gift. Flowers and chocolates are
great, but moms love something more sentimental to celebrate their first
mother’s day. Jewelry designer Charme Silkiner has created a sweet sentiment
that makes a perfect mother’s day gift. The Bijoux d’enfant mother and child
collection includes sets of matching jewelry for mom and baby. Beautiful
interchangeable gems can be customized to represent birthstones. The
children’s pieces can be worn long after baby has grown up – as a bracelet.
I love the idea of getting someone a unique gift that no one else has. And
these handmade pieces are stunning. Sets range from $225 – $580 and can be
found online at CharmeSilkiner.com.

This Mother’s Day, Treat Mom To Jewelry Gifts From Sundance!

If I had a nickel for every time my mother has either asked for my advice on jewelry or to borrow from my own collection of baubles, I’d probably have enough money to buy her an entire wardrobe of trinkets for easy accessorizing. And since Mom and I do have differing tastes when it comes to jewelry (my latest slew of friendship bracelets and studded “arm candy” aren’t exactly her style), I’ve decided to start small by gifting her with some luxe yet ladylike jewelry pieces this Mother’s Day. Lucky for us web-savvy shoppers, the Sundance Catalog contains something for every mom – from sleek sterling silver watches to vintage-inspired cocktail rings and even a little bling for the mom who isn’t afraid to stand out – and boasts unique pieces at an affordable price (you know, so we shoppers still have enough left to spend on our own spring jewelry collection)! Check out my picks below include the Footprint Necklace,  and browse the rest of the gift-ready Mother’s Day pieces on Sundance’s official website!

Feel The Retro Love With Vintage-Inspired Wedding Bands from Allurez

Vintage-Inspired Wedding Bands from Allurez

Now that Spring has sprung, it’s also officially wedding season, and I’ve already been invited to more weddings than I can handle this year. And while I’m hardly in any type of place to start planning my own hypothetical future wedding, that doesn’t mean that I can’t take the opportunity to learn from others’ mistakes (ha!) and gather inspiration while I wedding-hop the season away at other couples’ fancy fêtes! One trend that I’m starting to jump on-board with is vintage-inspired wedding bands. With so many distant acquaintances getting hitched and posting their ring pictures on Facebook, I can’t help but notice that many of them look the same… and shouldn’t your wedding band be something special? Something you won’t get tired of looking at – on your own hand or on other girls’ hands? And while it’s a bit embarrassing to get caught browsing engagement rings at work (I’m researching, I swear!), I took one for the team and gathered up some gorgeous examples that’ll be sure to make even the most iron-hearted gal catch a slight case of wedding fever! From delicate and understated to boldly elegant, these eye-catching bands from Allurez may have you rethinking those Tiffany bands you’ve been eyeing since you were old enough to see over the glass counter!

Throw an Arm Party! 5 Edgy-Chic Spiked Bracelets

When it comes to bracelets, more is definitely more these days! Stacked bracelets and bangles – also known as “arm candy” and “arm parties” in the trend world – have been serving to add extra texture to all sorts of spring ensembles, from romantic maxi dresses to your favorite tee and colored denim get-up. Mixed metals, spikes, studs, and even friendship-bracelet-inspired trinkets are being stacked and layered in a way that’s purposely excessive yet oh so right, and the one must-have on everyone’s forearm is a statement-making spiked bracelet! Let your inner bad girl out with these rocker-glam pieces, which don’t come off quite as quite as extreme as they look when worn with a bounty of other girlier bracelets, but make a super-cool statement that reads more modern than costumey! Check out the selection pictured above, and get started with your own spiky arm party!

Geometric-Inspired Jewelry Finds From Fiona Paxton

As much as I hate to reminisce about high school homework, geometry has never looked so good! London-based jewelry designer Fiona Paxton has a knack for putting bold, basic shapes to good use, creating statement-making accessories that are anything but simple. As a self-proclaimed globetrotter, Fiona’s pieces reflect an eclectic blend of cultures, from tribal-inspired trinkets to British punk-infused baubles, and since her line’s launch in 2008, she’s already been celebrated by the likes of Vogue, the New York Times, and more! Browsing through her diverse jewelry offerings, including everything from intricate beaded necklaces to bold tough-girl cuffs, I’m most drawn to her geo-inspired pieces that take full advantage of this season’s trend while still keeping things fashion-forward with modern details like layered chains, bright accents, and even sequins. The result is a collection that manages to be both elegant and edgy at the same time, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for this fearless jeweler!

Yikes, Spikes! Assad Mounser’s Edgy-Chic Jewelry

Amanda Assad Mounser’s fierce  jewelry line may be young at just three years old, but when it comes to designing statement-making baubles, the New York native is clearly a pro. Having worked previously for Moschino and Alejandro Ingelmo, Amanda used her experience to branch out and create her own 70s-inspired glam-rock jewelry that mixes both natural and man-made materials for a jewelry line that’s part boho-chic, part rocker-inspired. While her agate and quartz pieces have been earning her plenty of praise by the likes of In Style, Vogue, Marie Claire, Nylon, and more, it’s her spike-embellished jewelry that’s really got my attention! I love how she plays with contrasting textures – woven silk thread, chunky metal chains, and glimmering stones – for looks that manage to be elegant with just the right amount of edge. They’re perfect for the girl who likes to toe the line between gorgeous and dangerous, and they’re the perfect addition to a look that’s sophisticated but never boring or safe.
