paul-joe-jumpsuit
It sounds crazy, but recently I’ve seen a few women wearing something that looks like a car mechanic’s jumpsuit, except the pants are actually short-shorts.  So I did a bit of digging around, and it turns out that not only is this becoming a street fashion look, but a full-blown trend.  It is the cool weather version of the short sleeved summer rompers we were parading around in with wedge espadrilles this summer. For fall the romper is translated into a “playsuit“.

Don’t be mistaken, though – this is not a summer thing, it’s intended to be  worn in the winter, paired up with the season’s hottest thigh-high boots and maybe some patterned tights.  I think this look would be great on those with a lean-and-lanky torso.  It all depends on how the middle of the garment is designed; this wool playsuit from Paul & Joe seems to be pretty baggy in the waist area, which will make it very comfortable, but probably won’t do much to define the waist area on those with hourglass figures.

Forever 21 Pick of the Day: Brushed Abstract Jumpsuit

I really like the idea of jumpsuits, however on petite frames (like yours truly) they’re reminiscent of wearing onesie childrens pajamas. The tank tops/shorts duo is much more manageable, hence I love this Brushed Abstract Jumpsuit, $22.80. The print is absolutely New York cool, and void of any heavy 80s references. Pair it with some chunky or skinny hoop earrings, a pendant necklace, and canvas platforms.
