Moms Get Radical – Luxury Loves Company Statement Tees for Mother’s Day

Luxurylovescompany_momsday

Mom – a rebel? Yes, perhaps. It's not unlikely that your mom may have even sat in on a few protests while she was an undergrad at Cal. Take the once 1960's civil rights activist and fast-forward to the modern yoga lovin', hybrid driving mom/grandma sporting a cheeky attitude.

A fabulous gift for the modern mom to embrace her radical side is a luxurious statement tee from Luxury Loves Company. The designs include slogans such as "Pardon Me", "My Way or the Highway", "Twice as Sweet as Sugar, Twice as Bitter as Salt." Also pop art graphics include imagery depicting Patty Hearst, the "Double Patty" with the words "Rich Girl" emblazoned across the back. Yes of course it is all in good fun.

All of Luxury Loves Company's products are produced in ethical and Fair Wear Foundation signatory factories, the luxurious eco-friendly fabrics include soft organic cotton and bamboo. The collection is currently sold in Kitson, Fred Segal Fun, and others.

TheFind got the insider scoop on the woman behind Luxury Loves Company, Diane Rosenstein:

What inspired you to launch LLC as a socially responsible/green luxury brand?
It was my only option, from the beginning.  And the fabric quality is amazing! It's kind of easy to be a good guy, right? Honestly, who wouldn't favor ethical factory practices and sustainable farming. It's a simple choice — but a big decision. In today's highly competitive global workplace, doing "the right thing" can be the true luxury.  "Green" is more than the word "organic": for LLC, it's about creating a product that has integrity.  They say we're all judged by the company we keep!

What and Whom inspires the radical graphics on your statement tees?
I loved 80s Divas like Chrissie Hynde, Debby Harry, and Madonna. Chic and Bad-Ass at the same time! I wanted to capture their sense of good naughty fun.

What has the reaction to the collection been so far? Great! People love the super soft feel and tell me that they've worn my tee 3 days in a row. Plus they get lots of attention and comments.

What is the most popular t-shirt design so far for women? The "Double Patty" for women.  For men? Guys love the bullet print in "Too Many".

How would you define the LLC brand and what is your vision for the future?  Luxury Loves Company is about artist collaboration, flexibility, and originality.  We've just finished our first capsule collection in the "Artist Series": a series of electric colored flowers based on photograms by Los Angeles fine artist Farrah Karapetian.

What are a couple of your favorite hot spots for shopping in LA?
I love the boutiques on West 3rd Street and the edgy energy of Fairfax Avenue.

Luxury Loves Company – Radical + Luxury Eco Chic Statement Tees

Luxurylovescompany

"Nothing can replace my favorite T-shirt!" We all wear them as often as we can, with jeans, skirts, or shorts. But if your fave is as played and worn as mine (worked that look since H.S.) along to the rescue comes Luxury Loves Company — the breakout brand from Los Angeles. Made for both Men and Women, these super-soft cotton and bamboo tees, have slogans and artwork on them that reflect some of my favorite moods. LLC tops are sexy, edgy, and already making a splash in top L.A. boutiques Kitson Men & Fred Segal and Houston's Katia. California Apparel News names Luxury Loves Company one of the best New Resources for 2009 and calls LLC a "fashionable radical" or their graphic mash-up of 70s & 80s icons like Grandmaster Flash and Patty Hearst with eco-fabrics and hand-screened artisan details. The "Double Patty" tees dress up leggings & stilettos; the "Twice as Sweet as Sugar" snug Vee addsflirt to jeans & flats.

The Spring collection at upscale Project Vegas also debuted the new "Artist Series" which kicks off with collaboration between LLC & fine art photographer Farrah Karapetian. Karapetian transforms her delicate multi-colored photograms of exquisite flowers into unique graphics for the ultra-luxe tees and dresses. The result — Pink daisies, Violet irises, and Mint bamboo — carries a refreshing image of hope and renewal after such a gloomy winter. Every girl loves flowers! Pop on a royal blue "Daisy" t-dress over mesh tights and metallic platforms and you? You'll be sure that happy days are here again.

Wear LLC long & loose with pencil pants & platform pumps or pop on a tank under high-waisted skirts and opaque tights. While you're at it, grab a "Champagne" tee for your man. T-Shirts run about $47 and the full collection is available online at:
