New Year’s Eve is quickly approaching and it’s the perfect time to add something that makes you feel like a million bucks to your wardrobe. We’ve included a few of our top picks for the festive ladies and gentlemen below.

For Her –

Sparkly Anything – Whether you rock multicolor sequins or go with one color tone, show off your shoulders in straps or get a little extra warmth with long sleeves, sparkly dresses, skirts and shirts are a perfect match for New Year’s Eve parties. We especially like the sequin dresses in the Lauren Conrad line.

Colorful Pants – Add some pow to your outfit with colorful pants. Pair red pants with a white blouse and black blazer for a chic combo.

Makeup – Keep your lip marks to yourself by using a lip stain from the Hourglass Aura Sheer Lip Stain line and don’t forget to add some glitz to your nails with metallic, bright colored or even glitter nail polish. Our top pick goes to Deborah Lippman’s Cleopatra in New York polish.

For Him –

Leather Jacket – A leather jacket will make admirers melt. Some great options include jackets from Topman, John Varvatos Star USA or Hugo Boss.

Blazer – Dress up an outfit with a nice blazer in black, navy, grey or even a pattern. Club Monaco and The Gap both have nice selections.

Bow Tie – Not feeling a tie this year? Try a bow tie. This fun and charming addition will catch some attention.

muubaa’s Black Leather Jacket Inspired by George Washington?

Every so often we’ve been known to pass on a great deal on a funky piece. We’re doing that right now with muubaa’s Revolutionary Jacket in black leather. We all know how huge the leather trend is this season. This jacket is so reasonably priced and perfect for someone who is trying to achieve “the leather jacket look” with affordability in mind.

“Muubaa’s core strength is its lean, mean attention to detail and its adaptability”. This jacket certainly has a lot of attention to detail as noted in the style, length and buttons. We guess you could say it has that George Washington flair minus the cape. Who knew our first PREZ was such a trend-setter… headpiece, high boots, buttons and all!

This jacket is fun and trendy and looks great paired with jeans or leggings. The entire collection is for the young and oh-so hip…which may exclude us! The jackets combines the look of high style with the  ”lived in” worn leather look and will become your everyday go-to staple. “It adapts to the wearer’s personality, style and surroundings”. (quotes from muubaa)

The best is…are you ready….the jacket was $641 and is now $256.40. We call this a steal and a deal. Just like George…we’re also loving the jacket with the tall boots. Be sure and check out Jeffrey Campbell’s Wishlist Boot. Click the link to be in style with George and your fall uniform is well on it’s way! Has any President ever inspired your style?

Peplum Leather Jackets Add a Flirty Vibe to Your Fall Wardrobe!

  • posted September 1st, 2012
  • Fashion

This fall is all about playing with contrasts. Edgy spikes on sophisticated pumps, bold printed coats over muted layers, jackets with contrasting sleeves, military-inspired layers over flouncy girly dresses, you name it – it’s time to experiment, mix and match, and combine all aspects of your personality and fashion sense towards one fashionable finished product! One of my favorite new examples of this is the peplum leather jacket. A wardrobe staple traditionally attributed to adding a little more moto-chic edge to your ensemble is getting the girly treatment with skirted peplum details, so you can toe the lines between naughty and nice, girly and tomboy, and edgy and flirty. Plus, while some peplum styles are tricky to pull off on certain figures, as they add extra volume and force you to be more mindful of proportions, peplum jackets help take the boxiness out of your typical leather bomber or moto-style jacket so you can show off your girlish figure, even under multiple fall-friendly layers! Browse some of my favorite picks in the links below!

Swing into Spring with These Colorful Takes on the Leather Jacket

Unless you’re lucky (or cursed) enough to live in a climate like San Francisco where seasons barely exist and might as well be interchangeable, transitioning from winter to spring can be a bit more complicated than just throwing on a floral dress and cardigan and praying for warmer weather. Because the truth is, while all the college kids are heading to Cabo for spring break, spring itself isn’t really all that warm at all – especially in its awkward first stages – so it’s time to wise up and equip yourself with pieces that are practical but still season-festive! Specifically, I’m talking about bold, colorful takes on the classic leather jacket – from vibrant yellow to hot coral and sky blue – that take the sleek structure of your tried-and-true black moto jacket and give it an undeniable dose of spring fever! Use it to cheer up some of your moodier-hued winter ensembles for a smooth spring transition, or go all out by coordinating with a patterned dress or blouse for a fun look that’s spring-spirited but won’t leave you freezing!

Fall Must-Have: An Olive Green Leather Jacket

  • posted September 30th, 2011
  • Fashion

Aside from your favorite cozy peacoat, warm puffer jacket, and trim-and-tailored blazers, everyone needs a leather jacket (or faux leather one!) to carry them through the fall season! And nowadays, as the leather look has expanded from everything to sporty bombers and moto styles to even military jackets and blazers, leather jackets are no longer best reserved for just achieving the biker look. And what better way to update your classic black leather jacket than with a fresh, fall-friendly shade like olive green? While a green leather jacket sounds like a bit of a fashion risk, a toned-down neutral like olive still goes with nearly everything and really pops with fall’s favorite jewel tones, and adds a dose of seasonal color to otherwise monochromatic autumn ensembles. Whether you’re looking for something moto-inspired, military chic, or a casual bomber style for cozy fall layering, olive green is a cool way to stay warm in leather this season!

Isabel Marant Keni Leather Jacket $600 off retail $2,395

I am a big fan of Ebay and for good reason…once in a while I will find something on Ebay that is a major find. Isabel Marant Keni Leather jacket I found today is a MAJOR find. It still retails for $2395 and was sold out last season and they brought it back this season. I found a size 3 on Ebay for $600 less than retail brand new with tags. My issue is that it is a size 3 which is like a 6 US. I would need a size 1 so I could not get it. But you can have it.
Anyhow check it out.

Shearling and Leather Jackets Are The Perfect Fall Staple!

Sure, your everyday worn-in leather jacket you’ve been sporting since spring is perfectly suitable to keep wearing through the more milder days of fall, but if you’re like me, you’re likely to pounce on any excuse to update your favorite go-to pieces to suit the season at hand. Shearling-lined leather seems to instantly transform a simple seasonless moto jacket into a chilly-weather staple — not only does it look and feel warmer and cozier, but it updates the look from expected and “typical” to totally on-trend with this season’s aviator inspiration.

Trade your asymmetrical-zip moto jacket for one with some seasonal updates, like this one by ADAM. The shearling collar and camel leather is totally hot for fall, while its cropped silhouette and slim fit keep the look sleek and polished despite the bulkier neckline. This Madewell leather jacket has more of a “boyfriend” fit and aviator feel with its looser fit, belted details and hardware, and is the perfect for amping up your jeans-and-tee combo. If the contrasting collar isn’t your fave, this Ziggy biker jacket is a more subtle, monochromatic take on the trend, giving you the comfy warmth of a collar without making quite so loud a statement.
