Khloe Kardashian’s Amazing Shoe Closet

Can you say jealousy?

Obviously we knew the Kardashian girls have wardrobes full of fabulous clothing. But it wasn’t until we saw Khloe Kardashian’s walk-in shoe closet that we realized the full extent of their wardrobe collection.

Are you a shoe shopper? Khloe Kardashian is! In the new issue of Elle magazine, she shares her shoe wardrobe with readers. And let’s just say, it’s one of the most over-the-top amazing shoe closets you’ve ever seen!

Of course, the first thing that likely stands out to you when you glance at Khloe’s shoes is all of the red soles. You know what that means: Christian Louboutin! Khloe has a dozens of them and it’s making me incredibly jealous. Khloe says of Louboutin, “Mr. Louboutin just does it right-he knows how to make women’s shoes the entire outfit. I literally create most of my outfits around my shoe collection.”

Not only is Khloe in love with her shoes, but she’s also obsessed with their organization! Wow.  She tells the magazine, “I love all of my shoes! It is a must to have them color coordinated, and to be able to see each and every one of them. I know exactly where each one lives and I can tell if one has been moved!   It definitely helps to put one shoe facing front, and the other to the back. It saves space, but it is also nice to be able to see the back-side of the shoe. I am an organization freak!” Lol, she’s obsessed.

Khloe also shares that fact that hubby Lamar Odom wishes she would wear more sneakers and that she likes shoes with lots of sparkle and bling… And leopard prints. Are you surprised?

Admit it, are you just a little jealous of Khloe Kardashian’s shoe closet? Do you think sisters Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian’s shoe wardrobes can compete?

Leopard Prints Charming

by Carlina Harris

I am so excited! I am going to Seattle tonight to visit a very good friend of mine, and spending the weekend with her at her country home just outside of the big city. Since its going to be raining all weekend, we will try to keep warm by staying indoors (hopefully)– we’ll bake cookies, drink champagne, go shopping, and have all sorts of girlfriend fun times!

Now the only problem here is, I don’t really know what to pack. Last time we hung out in California, I wore a vintage sequin top with shoulder pads–and I think she thought it was a little much! Should I tone it down for the low key life in Washington, or should I bring the seksi to Seattle? Well if you have been reading “Links We Love” for the past two years, I am not really one to tone it down, hence this. So of course, I will bring the fierceness, and by fierce I mean leopard!

Who doesn’t love this gaudy, abrasive print, in its many forms (fur, cashmere, cotton) and shades? Its a trend that always seems to pop up around this time of year–holiday season. It is perfect for all those parties, festivities, and definitely a conversation starter! What’s that, you say this is one trend you can’t do? Sure you can, just take baby steps, not ready for the full on leopard dress (not really appropriate for my weekend festivities), try a sassy leopard flat, or a cashmere scarf, to incorporate some of this trend, and as to not go overkill.

Check out some of my suggestions below for how to tone down all these pieces, what I’m bringing with me on my trip, and what I am saving for SF, NY, Paris!

Seattle bound:
0 Cash wrap Cashmere leopard

Trying to remain true towards my feelings for fashion, yet not to avant-garde for the rest for the state, these were my top three for Seattle. I love how on the leopard pump, the color gradually fades to black, understated elegance at its best. The cashmere wrap is obvi for the plane, and everywhere else, its just too fabulous not to wear! And the cardi is fun, and cashmere, perfect for a chilly day, rain gear not included. From left to right: CARLOS by Carlos Santana Leopard Pump, Zappos, $110; Leopard Cashmere Travel Wrap, Madison LA, $345; Cashmere Leopard Cardigan, Bergorf Goodman, $265

Saving for the SF, NY, Paris:

Now these three are bold leopard, they don’t just say look at me, they demand the attention of the entire building! I had to throw in the Louboutin’s of course, sexy meets of the moment fierceness, and that red sole is so beautiful! The cap sleeved dress is very elegant, and a simple look to do: only accessories, shoes, and red lips required. Now the last item- the oh so fabulous coat, the one that caught my eye (at JC Penny’s none the less) and is now hanging in my already over packed closed, well there really are no words. Except, I got it for under $50 in store, when online it says $84!!!!

Left to right: Christian Louboutin, Saks Fifth Avenue, $1,095; Satin Leopard Print dress, Tadashi Shoji, Neiman Marcus, $290; Leopard coat, Oxford & Regent, JC Penny, $83.99

Au revoir mon cheri!

Where the Boys Are – Women’s Lace-up Brogues

womens-brogues-shoes

For a couple of weeks now I’ve seen a few women here and there wearing what appears to be their boyfriends’ shoes.  So I looked it up on Google, and sure enough, it’s a real thing, an actual trend for fall and winter.  It makes sense in context, I guess – with all the gender-bending fashion we’re seeing now and in the coming season, shoes were bound to follow at some point.

Personally, I like my shoes comfortable, so this is a welcome change of direction as far as I’m concerned.  Of course, you don’t have to raid a man’s closet in order to get the look; lots of designers are doing shoes for women that are inspired by styles that have traditionally belonged to men.  Check out these Christian Louboutin “Fred” Patent Leather Lace Up Jazz Shoes, cute as a button. Imagine pairing these up with a your favorite Current Elliott boyfriend jeans. Could be very, very cute if played the right way.

Christian Louboutin Simple 100 Pumps

louboutin-simple-100

Celebrities like Kardashian, Nicole Richie, Anne Hathaway, and Angelina Jolie love Christian Louboutin and so do I. There are obvious reasons to love Christian Louboutin. The shoes are well made, the styles are beautiful, and the red bottom is a trademark.

For those of you who are just entering the world of Christian Louboutin my suggestion is to get the Simple 100 Pumps to get started.

The Simple 100 Pumps are the pumps that Angelina Jolie wears all of the time to award shows and premieres. It is just a simple black pump that will last for years. Christian Louboutin shoes are incredibly comfortable which is an added bonus. Invest in a pair for the Fall. You will be so happy you did. Also, the Simple 100 Pumps are always sold out, so if you can get your hands on a pair right now. Get them. Click the photo to get a closer look.

Summer’s Most Coveted Summer Sandals on Sale

flat-sandals-on-sale

The summer shoe sale season is in full swing although there are at least two and a half more months of summer to go. And for many lucky inhabitants of warmer climates summer lasts all year long. Now is the time to stock up on pretty flat sandals that you can wear for the rest of the summer or save to wear on your wintertime beach resort holiday. I always get a thrill out of saving a new pair of gorgeous sandals for a winter escape to a tropical island paradise.  Flat summer sandals aren’t as heavy duty as winter boots and most likely won’t last more than a season, so buying on sale is a smart move. The range of styles and prices runs from under $25 up to $300 or so, but still you’re saving almost 50% off the original price. Some of my favorite sandals are these gorgeous gold metallic Christian Louboutin “Maigrissima” flat sandals and the Jimmy Choo Desert Brushed Leather sandal is a knockout as well. You can’t go wrong for $25 bucks for the Gap jeweled t-strap as well!

Shoe or Emu…You Decide!

Shoe-or-emu-louboutin

Shoe or Emu???

We love Christian Louboutin and their signature red heels. That being said, we spotted this Louboutin black crepe satin peep-toe shoe in February at the ever-so chic Barney's in NYC and decided this was definitely not a key piece to own for evening. Actually, as I was about to exit the shoe department I quickly turned around to make sure this shoe was not following me…and thankfully it was not. This "sexy shoe" is over a sixteen hundred dollars and if you ask me belongs in a field rather than in a shoe box! You decide….Shoe or Emu!!!!! Okay…….so the Emu doesn't have signature red legs!
