Luxury Gets Personalized with Ferragamo

customize ferragamo vara
I never thought that someday I’d have the accessibility to seamlessly transform a classic pair of Ferragamos into something fully customizable, unique, and meaningful to me, but lo and behold, that day has arrived, and it is today! For a limited time, the iconic, 35 year-old Salvatore Ferragamo Vara and newly minted Varina ballet flat styles can be made fully yours, selecting bow, hardware, heel, and upper colors, along with a metal plate bearing your initials, secured to the sole. The cost? A cool $550, about $100-$125 more than buying a pair off the rack, but with the feature of a custom initial, you can ensure this pair of fancy footwear is yours forever.

I played around with the options for customization, which were extremely user-friendly and beyond easy to navigate, akin to customizing your own pair of Nikes, Converse or New Balances, however with more streamlined options. I went with a two-toned blue/green pair (pictured above and below), which bore my signature stamp of fearless color, and literal stamp of my initials. No word on how long these take to be manufactured and arrive at your door, but nonetheless, I am smitten!

Gucci Kids Fifth Avenue Launch Party + iPad App

Too young to wear designer duds?

If I were a parent, I’d want to keep my kids far far from luxury designer labels such as Gucci as long as possible. But Gucci is quite determined to reel in the kiddie crowd, or at least their credit card carrying parents! First the launch of the Gucci iPad app. And then they threw a Gucci party at a daycare. Calling Suri Cruise?

Of course, all kids would look adorable in Gucci. How can you resist the mini-sized classic Gucci horse bit loafer on a tiny tot? Too adorable! But do you really want to encourage your kids to be begging for Gucci duds before they even hit their teens? The Gucci iPad app will keep the young fashionistas happy and busy as they color the Gucci paper dolls and view the new clothing line. The iPad if you haven’t noticed is the new toy of choice for tech-savvy kids these days.

After school one Friday, a party was thrown in Gucci’s Fifth Avenue store for tots and their moms. Gucci made entertained the young guests with face painting and custom Gucci coloring sheets. There was also playtime on the new Gucci iPad apps. I be the parents milled around and chatted about whose toddler looks the cutest in Gucci.

When you see Jennifer Lopez and her adorable twins in the Gucci Kids ads, you’ll seriously be lusting over it, too. Gucci is marketing their kids’ line in all the right ways and I have a feeling it’s going to do very, very well. Even if it feels so wrong.

Just what we need: Kids throwing tantrums because their parents won’t buy a new Gucci leather jacket for them. Sigh.
