Welcome to the Hotel Missoni

Missoni Hotel in Edinburgh-2b
The Ritz is where I will retire myself when I am old and gray and wish to spend my twilight years in quiet luxury. That said, at this moment I’m young and I want to stay at the loud, overstated Missoni Hotel in Edinburgh,UK and have a good time. The first of a proposed chain of hotels, the six-story building is dressed head-to-toe in signature Missoni patterns and bold colors. The hotel also brings in the design sensibility of Marcel Sandes, Eero Saarinen, Arne Jacobson and Hans Wegner. Rooms start at $355 a night.(via Cyana.Trend.Land).

Missoni Brings Back The Bean Bag Chair – Stylehive

missonibeanbag
If the silly (and not especially comfortable) trend known as the bean bag chair has already had its “comeback” in the realm of popular home furnishings, I guess I wouldn’t have been the first to know. After all, I probably haven’t “relaxed” in one since I was in preschool, where they could be found slumped in various corners of the room, misshapen and abused by rowdy children and patched back together with duct tape in the places where they had inevitably sprung a messy leak of styrofoam “beans.” Yuck. Who in their right mind would try to bring back those sad sacks? Why, Missoni, that’s who! But wait — these aren’t just any bean bag chair. With their soft and comfy exterior, eclectic patterns and coloring, and wide variety of shapes and sizes, these bean bags are the old garbage bag version’s much chicer younger cousin. Could it be that Europe’s home decor experts are turning an out-dated uncomfortable fad into the ultimate combo of laziness and luxury? Check out the selection at dotmaison.com and see for yourself!

Get Pretty in PINK – Classic Pieces in Eyepopping Hues

Pretty-in-pink

One of the cleverest ways to inject some spice into your
wardrobe is to invest in classic pieces, but in eyepopping prints or
hues. This lively shade of pink would shock even Schiaparelli (but for
all the right reasons), and with a simple change of accessories and
shoes, it's a timeless silhouette would transition easily from board
room to an evening out. The gold in the buttons begs for other touches
of gold and yellow – like the scrumptious buttercup shade of this
fabulous Missoni coat – and shoes in a nude tone are always a great
choice with pink or red, not to mention supremely leg-
lengthening.  (For additional mileage with anything pink, try
pairing it with a blue cardigan and accessories, especially tones of
slate or aqua.)
