Nail Polish Find – Butter London Primrose Hill Picnic

Oh, what a lovely pink this is! This Butter Londonshade Primrose Hill Picnic (which is also now included in the Spring 2012 Collection of new Lippy matching lip glosses!), is a medium/dark cross between fuchsia and hot pink. It reminds me of some of my favoritecolored Spring tulips.

I loved how this looked against my skin and I definitely recommend it for those of you sporting a tan and with darker brown skin. With base and two coats I got the exact pink in the bottle, with a smooth, easy application and no streaking.

Butter London has always been one of my favorite lines for years for their very creative, yet still flattering, nail shades and fantastic, long wearing formulas made without

The finish has a nice sheen, and adding top coat certainly kicks the finish up to a high shine.

This shade is perfect for spring/summer and beach-hopping pedicures too! – RLB

April, May & June by Chanel

Chanel has unveiled their new spring 2012 ‘Harmonie de Printemps’ nail polish collection.  April, May and June make their debut just in time. They each usher in feelings of pink, new beginnings to this grey winter time.

All the shades are cream based and there is not a trace of shimmer as seen in so many of the Chanel spring/summer palettes of late.  Providing the quality and gorgeous coverage that Chanel is known for this pretty trio is quite simply beautiful.  The polishes are inspired by the changing moods and colors of spring but they remind me of spring in Washington with all the Cherry Blossom trees blooming.

Depending on your mood this season you can wear the glossy, berry hue of April. Not quite red and not quite purple it is the brightest of the bunch.  Chanel describes it as ‘garnet’ and that might be the most accurate.  May, is a full-gloss, intense baby pink color.  It brings to mind those cherry blossoms again and peonies fresh from the garden.  June is like the fresh, first fruit of summer.  Apricot-hued and creamy it is a delightful shade that begs to be taken to the beach.

The Chanel Vernis Spring colors are available now at your local Chanel counter and online.

Super Cute! – Deborah Lippmann Collection Candy Shop Lacquer

Deborah Lippmann Collection Candy Shop Nail Lacquer ReviewIf you LOVED Deborah Lippman’s “party in a bottle” nail polish, Happy Birthday, then you’ll flip over Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer- Candy ShopDeborah Lippmann Collection Candy Shop Nail Lacquer Review for Spring!

Like Happy Birthday, this fun shade also has tons of multi-colored pastel rainbow glitter of different sizes and shapes in it, but in this polish the base is a pretty pure “bubble gum” pink. The pink is so pretty, and with two coats is a very opaque color.

True to it’s name, whenever I looked down at my nails when I was wearing it, it made me think of all things candy (as well as cupcakes with sprinkles). The formula is a bit thicker that most of Lippmann’s polishes, but the glitter still applied to the nails in a uniform way and it had very good lasting power with a top coat.

I loved it for a manicure and especially for a pedicure – it’s really fun and looks so cute with open toed shoes girls!

Nail Polish Find – Lancome Vernis in Love, Beige Dentelle

Lancome Vernis in Love, Beige Dentelle review
This spring, Lancome’s In Love line includes pretty,
lipsticks (Rouge in Love) and of nail polishes (Vernis in Love) in soft, feminine, pastel and cheery pinks, reds and plums.

One of my favorite Vernis in Love is Beige Dentelle from the Jolis Matins range, which are fresh shades designed for daytime wear in mind. (Jolis Matins shades are identified with the letter M in the shade number).

This is the perfect nude/pink hybrid, with touch a touch of coral when applied on the nail. It is indeed very shiny, when it dries – even without a top coat. With 2-3 coats, the wear was also quite impressive, with at least 4 days before I saw any major chipping.

This is a shade I’ll keep reaching for when I don’t want a beige nail, but I want to keep it soft and light for spring and summer. – RLB

RGB + Tenoversix Combine Forces To Create a Polish For the Platinum Blonde

  • posted March 1st, 2012

Leave it to two kick-ass Los Angeles-based brands – RGB and Tenoversix – to join forces and create the ultimate trend-setting nail color, just for the platinum blondes (and the inner blonde in all of us, of course). The cutting-edge spring color, called Blonde on Blonde, takes cues from Hollywood’s favorite nude nail trend as well as new fashion-forward peach lacquer shades, and the result is an opaque shade that’s rich and milky but reads fresh and pinky on the hand, perfect for the season ahead. RGB is no stranger to chic collabos – the brand recently combined forces with celebrity nail artist Jenna Hipp for an awesome line of nail foundations – while Tenoversix’s Creative Director Kristen Lee is all about taking advantage of a killer partnership with the trendy polish brand to spread the platinum blonde pride with fellow RGB fans! What do you think – would you spend $16 on this limited-edition platinum shade, with or without having the roots to match?

RGB x Jenna Hipp Nude Nail Polish Collection

Nude nail polish is a shade everyone should have and RGB seems to agree. To help find the best nude shade for your skin tone, the brand has brought on celeb manicurist Jenna Hipp. The RGB x Hipp nude nail polish collection features four nude shades designed to match your skin tone. Aren’t they lovely? I honestly would buy the whole collection and start mixing shades to make my own custom colors. Pretty neat huh? Check out the nude nail polish collection at RGB.com. Each bottle is priced at $16.

RGB Nail Polish For Shiny Shades That Are Brilliant & Safe!

Usually when it comes to nail polish, you’ll often find formulas that either boast natural, chemical-free ingredients that keep your nails in tip-top shape and protect against damage, or brilliant color payoff. But a brand that takes pride in delivering both?! It’s rare… but it certainly exists, and RGB won’t settle for anything less! With high-shine, chip-free formulas that are free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP (dibutyl phthalate), Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor (trust me – you won’t miss ‘em!), these no-nonsense polishes come in classic colors and the latest must-try trends to boot! At $14-16 a pop, RGB polish is definitely more on the high-end side of the spectrum, but if you’re a shopper who’s mindful of taking better care of your nails, are typically unsatisfied with drugstore-quality formulas, and already have a specific color in mind that you can’t wait to add to your polish collection, RGB lacquers are worth every penny! Shop the newest colors on the official RGB online shop!
