Vintage Pick Of The Day: Bamboo Bling

Bamboo is an environmental wonderkid. This fastest growing plant on the planet (up to 4-ft per day in some species!) releases 35% more oxygen than trees and can be harvested sustainably. Here are some more interesting bamboo facts:

* The filament in Thomas Edison’s first light bulb was made of carbonized bamboo.
* Alexander Graham Bell’s first phonograph needle was made of bamboo.
* There is a 250-yd suspension bridge in China made strictly from bamboo–no nails or iron needed.

In tribute of this miracle material designed by Mother Nature herself, I present today’s VPOD. This vintage 1970s gold Napier necklace is made of bamboo-like rings that add style to the list of bamboo’s amazing properties.

It’s a lovely bit of bamboo bling for a vintage fashionista!

smart-mom-jewelry

Moms are born muliti-taskers so it’s only natural that they would enjoy products that serve a dual purpose. Smart Mom jewelry, invented by two moms, is made specifically for mothers of babies. Smart Mom Jewelry is designed to be stylish and functional. All of their pieces are made with baby’s safety in mind. The silicone used to make Teething Bling is non-toxic, latex-free and food–safe. If you’ve ever held a baby while wearing a necklace, you know how much babies love to pull on them and put them in their mouth. With Smart Mom products, you don’t have to worry about toxins or small pieces. Babies can mouth and explore them to their heart’s content. The necklaces also have a breakaway clasp so if Baby pulls too hard, the clasp just comes undone rather than breaking.

With many different colors and designs priced at less than $20 they are affordable enough to own several to compliment any outfit. Coordinating bangle bracelets and keychains are also available.  Now moms can look stylish with a purpose!

Gold Jewelry: A Must Have for Spring!

By The Devil Wears Marc  Jacobs

Spring has finally sprung! The sun is rearing it's big head into our lives again, finally! I feel vitamin D deficient, need a St. Tropez spring tint on my limbs, asap.

It's
time to start removing layers, and showing off more of that cooped up,
hibernated body you've been hiding. Your décolletage in particular
needs special attention this season, Cindy Crawford says she's been
taking care of hers for over 20 years, and you should too. Break out
the SPF, and layer your neck with the prettiest necklaces you can find.

Emily Elizabeth Jewelry
must have overheard Cindy, because she wants women everywhere to look
their fiercest! EE's collection ranges from: delicate and sweet, to
kitschy and cool, to elegant and sophisticated. So what kind a girl are
you? I'm a mix between delicate and sophisticated, so these are my
picks, but there is something in her collection for everybody!

Lucky Clover Lariat, $50. Irish girls everywhere, are going crazy over this one!

Emily-elizabeth-bracelet

Fern Leaf Bangle, $100. I am going crazy over this one! Must get leaf bracelet to adorn wrists with this Spring.

Have them Follow you Necklace $100.  "Fly like an eagle"

Emily-elizabeth-circles

Five Times Gilded Necklace, $70. My favorite piece. Would look amazing paired with my nameplate necklace.

Emily
Elizabeth has been working on her jewelry line for almost three years,
and has perfected the art creating fabulous pieces! Her necklaces,
bracelets, and earrings come in an array of colors, including: rose
gold (my fave), black gold, and green gold, how creative!

will do the talking!
