It’s time to decorate for spring and what better way than to celebrate Easter.  Pottery Barn has a great selection of versatile pieces to create a gorgeous centerpiece, mantle decoration or side table display.  Start off with a white Langdon Vase made of earthenware with a distressed glazed finish.  They are available in 4 different sizes so you can find one just right for your space.  Add a faux cherry blossom branch. With it’s wire stem, it can be bent for shaping the arrangement. Then, use a set of faux eggs hanging from twine to spell out “Happy Easter” from the branches.  The set is hand painted in ivory with hand-applied black letter decals.  Finally, surround your arrangement with candles, Sisal Bunnies or any other items that make you think spring.

There’s something undeniably appealing about cage booties – several things, really! For one, they’re totally sexy without being overly glammed-up, like the happy medium between a strappy heel and your favorite trusty pair of goes-with-everything boots. Plus, unlike more fall-friendly takes on the classic bootie, cage booties are perfect for warmer weather, giving your feet some natural breathing room in the best way possible. But with so many on-trend options, how does one even know where to start? Well, for your perusing pleasure, I’ve rounded up five pairs of cage booties (including both dressy and casual versions) that’ll suit any budget, and most importantly, get you geared up for the spring season ahead! White Snake Pieces Ready to Slither into Your Spring Wardrobe

Okay, so it might not yet be the “appropriate” time to break out your white apparel…. but fashion rules were meant to be broken, right? And spring’s latest spin on the risky shade is hard to pass up! White snake (no, we’re not talking about the rock band) is proving to be white hot for the season ahead, cropping up in the form of bags, shoes, sunglasses and even coated denim! The snake-y texture gives your traditional white pieces a more luxe, elevated feel, and the solid white makes these stylish accessories a lot easier to coordinate with the rest of your spring wardrobe than more contrast-y python prints. Browse some of my favorites in the links below!

Spring Trend Alert: Distressed Boyfriend Jeans

Girly-girls may try to avoid it, but there’s no use denying it – the tomboy chic trend is very much alive for Spring 2013! From colorful oxfords to oversized blazers and plenty of button-down shirts to half-tuck to your heart’s content, menswear-inspired and boyfriend-style apparel is squeezing its way into our warm-weather wardrobes this season. After all, in a season traditionally dominated by delicate florals and feminine trends like flouncy skirts and floor-length maxi dresses, it’s refreshing to break things up with a little boyish attitude. Not convinced? The newest influx of distressed boyfriend denim is bound to make a boyfriend-wear convert out of anyone! The perfect mix of on-trend and effortlessly cool, this laidback denim trend is not only stylish, but it’s ridiculously comfortable to boot. The key is to pair them with more polished pieces – think a pretty blouse or silky tee and strappy sandals or pointy pumps – to keep the look fashionable instead of frumpy of sloppy. In fact, the finished effect is almost kind of glamorous in a casual-cool sort of way… and that’s a concept any feminine fashionista can get behind!

Summer Sophistication Done Right, Thanks To Max Studio!

While we ladies in San Francisco can hardly complain about extreme weather, my summer vacations visiting family in Connecticut have taught me enough to know that when the weather gets really hot, you rarely want to get out of the pool, let alone get dressed up and wear real clothes. But the truth is, you don’t have to suffer to look sharp when it’s sweltering outside (contrary to popular belief, pain isn’t always beauty), and the newest Spring/Summer lookbook from Max Studio is chock-ful of comfy-chic pieces that manage to ooze sophistication without making you feel miserable! The key is to find stylish summer staples in lightweight, breathable, weather-friendly fabrics like linen and cotton, and of course, exposing skin to stay cool while still keeping it classy! Opt for a pair of goes-with-everything linen shorts, and a drape-y top that looks luxe but feels as comfy as your favorite tee. And of course, don’t underestimate the need for a lightweight summer jacket – this linen blazer-style jacket goes a long way in boosting the sophistication scale without making you break a sweat!

Fresh-Picked Floral Bags For Summer!

In the midst of all the fashion world’s excitement over color-blocked bags and blindingly bright neon satchels, it can be easy to forget about the original festive print! Nothing rings truer to summer than floral does, so if you’re having a hard time embracing the same unbridled enthusiasm towards the season that your fellow fashionistas seem to have, infusing a healthy dose of floral into your handbag arsenal is bound to do the trick! From totes and satchels to hobos and beach-ready bags, a floral handbag is an easy way to add an extra dose of femininity to even the most casual outfits, and can almost instantly transition your all-weather basics like jeans, tanks, and cardigans from tired and dull to festive and spring-ready!

The Latest Trend in Denim is White-Hot!

Sadly, white denim is a phrase that often evokes terror among even the most daring fashion gurus. I mean, for starters, it’s not even Memorial Day yet… and don’t even get me started on the danger of sitting anywhere that’s short of immaculately clean (that means no sunbathing on the lawn)! But don’t get me wrong – I’m not trying to persuade you to avoid white denim this season! When done right, white jeans are clean, sexy, leg-lengthening, and undeniably summer-festive. And of course, it goes with everything! From skinny and cropped to relaxed boyfriend styles, our favorite denim brands are embracing this white-hot trend to balance spring’s in-your-face colored jeans and whimsical printed patterns. If you’ve got the guts to rock white denim this spring and summer season, don’t bother waiting until the unnamed “fashion gods” say it’s appropriate – start rockin’ the look ASAP!

Prep For Unexpected Spring Weather With a Colorful Anorak

As much as the spring and summer trend reports and lookbooks will have us believe that the months ahead are full of nothing but sunny skies and perfectly warm weather, us fashionable realists know that your wardrobe needs to be prepared to face the unexpected while still suiting the season. I can’t speak for the rest of the world, but San Francisco is known for throwing its inhabitants for a loop despite its relatively mild weather, and luckily we can stay spring and summer-festive while still being equipped for a sudden downpour, ensemble-ruffling wind, or a chillier-than-usual June or July night. Colorful anoraks let you cover up, serving as a lightweight jacket that’ll guard against the elements, yet is still undeniably warm-weather appropriate! Short or cuffed sleeves keep the look fresh without making you break a sweat, while bomber styles and cinched waists provide a feminine yet sporty fit that’ll complement your outfit instead of just covering it up!
