TSA Approved Luggage Locks from Master Lock

Traveling with children and all of their gear can be very stressful.  Getting through security checks with a diaper bag can be a nightmare.  Is your diaper cream an approved travel size?  Did you remember to leave the nail clippers at home?  As parents we have so many things to worry about and keep track of while traveling.  Thanks to Master Lock, traveling has just become a little less stressful.  With their TSA approved luggage locks we no longer have to worry if our luggage is secure.  Each lock is emblazoned with the Travel Sentry symbol which airport staff are trained to recognize.  They have a special tool to open your baggage in the case that it needs to be searched.  This means that your luggage won’t be damaged or your locks cut off in order for it to be inspected.

For additional security measures, check out Master Lock’s list of tips to keep your belongings and home safe while traveling.

TSA approved Master Locks are available in a variety of styles and colors.  Choose from keyed or combination locks and a color that suits your style  for only $9-$20 for a 2 pack or 4 pack.

Watch Videos with MovieWedge the Beanbag for your iPod

moviewedge

Man, do I wish I had discovered the MovieWedge in time for my last sleepless red-eye flight to New York! Think of the plushy little media player stand as a bean bag chair for your iPod — it’s tiny, squishy and portable, and props up your device at an adjustable viewing angle so you can watch videos on your device hands-free. Anyone who’s had to entertain themselves on the go knows it’s a pain to have to hold your player for hours at a time (or at least until your downloads run its battery life dry). Now you and your iPod can be cozy just about anywhere as it sits atop its little perch on any tray table, arm rest, or even on your lap!

Price: $9.95

Must Have’s for Traveling with Kids

kids-travel-gear
Are you like me, a parent who doesn’t give it a second thought to taking your kids on a plane or train at a moment’s notice?  I once took my girls to New York for three hours.  The trip up and back took longer.  It was a whirl wind of a day to be sure.  If you are like me and you love to travel and often want to bring your kids but are a bit gun-shy on how to get started then read on!

Obviously planning in advance has its benefits in a situation like travel with kids but having a few of the items below will also make your next trip a lot easier on you, the kids and your sanity.

The On-the-Go Potty- It might seem a bit strange at first but think about it this way.  You don’t have to go but your toddler does.  You don’t want to drag everyone out of the car or disrupt potty training either.  The On-the-Go Potty is tiny, affordable ($10) and packs easily into a diaper bag.  It also has disposable liners that are simple to remove and throw away.

Get to know the Classy Kids line of travel products.  Whether you are on a plane or train, dining outside or in a restaurant you can be sure Classy Kids has an item for your next trip.  I swear by the disposable bibs, diaper sacks and placemats.  Their products are biodegradable and great in fighting germ warfare.  I keep a set of the color-me (crayons included!) place-mats and diaper sacks in my diaper bag at all times.

The Gold Standard- Lilly Gold that is.  This Nap Sac ($70)  is drool-worthy.  It not only comes with a waterproof pad, two bed sheets and is a portable bassinet and changing table all in one, it is stylish to boot!  It’s durable, has expanding side pockets and it’s compact.  There are others on the market like it but they are not quite this caliber.

These products are just a few of the items that have saved me time and a case of the crazies when I have traveled with my kids.  There are loads of others from portable desks to tiny wheeled suitcases and more.  Traveling with kids has never been easier or more fun!

Lighten Your Load with Vacuum Travel Bags

space-bag-travel

I’m a packing ninja – I never take more than a carry-on suitcase, even when I spent a month traveling Asia. Of course I did take only summer clothes and I did send back a box of souvenirs half-way through the trip, but I’m still pretty proud of myself for that accomplishment. Not checking luggage is SO much easier – yes I have to find space in the overhead bin, but I do NOT have to worry about the airline losing my luggage. Which – if you travel enough – is really only a matter of time. But I have a secret: vacuum travel bags. And don’t be scared off by their name – although you’ll get optimal results with a vacuum suction, you don’t actually have to use one to benefit from these bags. Roll them up, sit on them, stand on them – whatever you need to do to get the excess air out – and you’ll magically create lots of extra space in your luggage.

They’re especially great for airy items like skirts and t-shirts which end up taking up quite a bit of unnecessary space. Even if you’re not strapped for extra space in your suitcase, give these a try – you’ll be able to bring home more souvenirs from wherever your travels take you!
